Fight threads

I think that there need to be just one thread for each UFC, instead of having a different thread for each separate fight. I see where the mods and admins are coming from but i think it is just a little unreasonable to have that many threads. If anything you could just make two threads, one for the UFC discussion and one for the UFC results, were someone does pbp. I just think that there is a lot of unneeded threads when you can just have one and be done with it. Thats my take.

I think if there was only one thread for a ufc event than the conversation might get kinda confusing with different people talking about different fights.

I doubt I'll come to mmaforum immediately before and after fights if everything is put into one thread. It may work for other people to do it that way, but I don't have the time to sift through a 20 page thread to find a topic I'm interested in. Right now, I hit "New Threads" and decide where to go from there. I'd rather read 2 or 3 pages of thread titles than 20 pages of posts.

It didn't when we had only one.

We use to have just 2 threads, one on results and one on discussions. We decided to make the change about 2 PPVs ago, so that when searching or reading a thread, you won't have 20 or so different conversations within 1 thread. This also helps new members find a topic that they are confortable to talk about, without having to feel overwhelmed from other members. This make things easier on the mod staff to merge or remove threads that contain flaming and trolls. We have looked at this from several angles and this seems to be the best for the forum.

Yeah it really is the only way to avoid mass confusion. When there were only a couple threads, we had the problem of people making multiple new threads on the same topics. It was too much of a mess for everyone to deal with.

Yes but most of the other fight threads had no one post in them.

What's that have to do with anything? Haha, like there was 60 posts for one fight and 100 fights for another. That'd be hella confusing and irritating to sort through and see posts that you want to see.

This way is a lot neater and easier to use.
