Rep Distribution & Information Thread
how come nobody has more than one notch on there rep bar? how many rep points do you need for it to start getting bigger? i've been getting rep like crazy lately but my bar is still the same size and color as everyone elses. I know kameleon has a shitload of rep but his bar looks just like a new members. and how come no one can see what you've gotten rep for? when i click on someone's profile, i should be able to see what they've gotten rep for. isn't that kinda the point of rep? so people can see how good or bad of a poster you are and see how respected you are on this site so they can judge your opinions better? i like the idea of rep but this site kinda makes it pointless...

someone explained it once... essentially, you can't get rep until you give rep... so all the rep you have, won't show until you spread it around... it's a wierd system. nobody knows how it works, so nobody gets rep... and just giving rep to get rep, doesn't make sense... it's like affirmative action!

I have 73 rep points I hope I get another bar at 100. I'm still not sure how the rep system works.:dunno:

Another thing i dont get about the rep list at user cp is the colours, i get the green is good and red is bad. but whats the black one? And does someone of the mods check the messages to see if they are Bad ones if you get bad rep?

Right next to the green circle in your profile, you'll see the word white reputation symbol. Click on that, a new box will appear. You'll have two options:

I Approve (Add Reputation)
I Disapprove (Subtract Reputation)

To the person who asked about grey/black colored rep in your User CP...that means someone with their rep capabilities disabled gave you rep.

Points - Number of Bars

----0 - 1 Bar
--100 - 2 Bars
--200 - 3 Bars
--300 - 4 Bars
--400 - 5 Bars
--500 - 6 Bars
--700 - 7 Bars
--900 - 8 Bars
-1100 - 9 Bars
-1300 - 10 Bars
-1500 - 11 Bars

Hope that helps guys.

Now add REP! :D And if you do...leave your name so I can hit you back.

Yeah bud...

That happened A LOT to me a couple weeks ago. See the thing is, I think the people with their rep disabled don't have to spread after adding rep to a common user (you know how we get those screens....You must spread reputation before giving so and so rep again...), yeah, so they can just hit your name and endlessly add nothing.

If a person reps you and it is grey/black/blue or whatever that color is, then that person has 0-10 rep points, which is low and sad. You can't disable the rep system.

WouldLuv2FightU 11-01-2006 08:38 PM

wow this shit is intricate. It will take years before I get a couple bars. I always wondered about those blue rep bars too good question evil. I had one bad comment with a blue rep and one good comment with a blue rep, never made sense to me.

But still howcome no one else can see what you've recieved rep for? For all anyone knows I have 0 points, but I actually have 23. I want people to see what I've gotten rep for, and I wanna see what other people got their rep for. Doesn't everyone else?

T.B. 11-01-2006 08:45 PM

I don't think it matters what you get repped for...just as long as people spread it around you know? Like for a knowledgable post, a provided link, some custom stuff - like I make people....whatever. Just as long as people spread amongst each other - the more people's rep power will go up. Then, after a while, people will rep you and give you more than just one measly point.
