MMA Shirts & Trends - Your Opinion Wanted

First, let me clarify I am new to the site, but am not posting links, art, or other things so as to not break any rules, or to be perceived as spamming.

What I am looking for, is real feedback about the current trends of shirts and clothing that are in the market place. We are developing a new MMA T-Shirt line for some contacts in the RFC and intro's to the WEC. So I truly do value your feedback.

I have a few questions, some may seem slightly slanted or opinionated, so please read through that, and maybe just provide feedback based upon how YOU feel.

Our T-Shirt line is in the design and launch stage, and we are not going to deviate from the style that we are going after, I will state however it does not look like everything else that is currently in the industry: total grunge, skulls, death, swords, etc etc.

My questions for anyone that cares to respond is this:

Is there becoming or is there already an "over saturation" of the same repeated styles across the existing MMA shirt lines, by this I mean, how many black shirts with skulls are to many? How many ways can you print the same skulls and grunge on different colored shirts?

Do you feel that a lot of the shirts are merely copies of each other with a small twist on them?

Are the only shirts you wear the dark, ones: skulls, grunge, floral, tribal, etc?

In your opinion is it smart to sponsor fighters when launching a new t-shirt line, or is that move perhaps over-rated?

What is the average price you have or would pay for a MMA shirt?

Once again, I truly value your feedback and stance on these questions, if I was not interested, I would not ask. We are asking to learn.

Thanks for those that reply.

Hey TemperTantrum, thread's okay, but I'm going to move it to the Feedback section.

My opinon......Less is more. Alot less tribals, no more flames or skulls.

The cursive is pretty cool. But it looks better in odd places. Small where your trap muscle is at. Or on the back of the shirt on the right hand side from the bottom to the top.

I like the new Ecko shirt that Miguel Torres wore with the fists. That was pretty original. Bisbing wore the same one when he fought Leben.

I'll play along. I like good shirt art.

not a fan of skulls. but I love the grungy, 90's rock look. can't lie. tribal annoys me.

there are too many skull shirts out there. way too many.

I love fighter-sponsered shirts. I'm wearing my GSP silverstar one right now. My girlfriend is begging me to buy her one (get your own!) go for it. just pick good fighters.

I've paid $20 to like $55. But I usually settle in the $30 range. if it's anything more, it's gotta be damn impressive.

I'd love to see some test images when they come out.

Ok, thank you. Another question. How do you feel about animated...

Examples (even from way back): no fear, bad boy club, zum speed (if you remember those). But a serious animation, geared 100% towards MMA, excellent look to it. 16 million color shirts, state of the art.

Opinions?

personally im a fan of tribals, but nothing going over the entire shirt...like going across the bottom and up one side, or across one shoulder, etc etc

i also saw a shirt somewhere that made it look like you had a pair of boxing gloves strung across your neck, that was pretty badass

i usually pay in the 30-40 dollar range for shirts

i think your boys at mmaforum should get some free samples? :)

I don't get it why the majority of MMA shirts are black. If you start maing these shirts try to do a ringer tee, raglan, football jersey styles.
We have access to all those styles.

So a runner style.

I think we may be able to make a respectable offer to the MMA Members here for a short duration with the board owners permission and oversight if the members care for the style of shirt(s) that we are going to be doing.

I think most MMA tees are trying to hard to make the wearer look tough, personally i think they look like bad tattoos

there was this stand alone tee-shirt that just coonsisted of an S and an A it was plain but it looked class.

i think try and make a subtle tee shirt that doesnt broadcast the fact yoiu watch/train mma. Also i agree with JP about the print in weird place I have an analog tee that says analog starting at the collar and going down the sleeve it looks cool

I can tell you this, you will either like the style of shirt we are doing or you won't. There will be no in between I am assuming. And we are wanting a lower retail price.

Problem arises when you start to factor in the costs: weight of the shirt: 4.5oz, 5.1oz, 5.3oz, 5.4oz, 6.1oz etc.

Then you get into fitted, or regular. Double stitching or regular, combed cotton or regular etc. All these factors significantly alter the price. A standard Gildan shirt, 6.1oz is the way to go price wise by what we are seeing.

im not a fan of the grundge style shirts or whatever, i like the simple but more effective shirts, with less on them but its effecteive, but i do like some shirts with alot on them like the one that JP posted, i liek that shirt alot,

if your ever stuck for ideas on shirts, just hit up the GFX section and im sure the GFX artists we have here will make a few designs for you to look at

Yes, we are currently working on the site, the designs, and other aspects of it. I will post the site we are working on, and if this is in direct violation of ANY rules here, please let me know so that I can promptly remove it.

Like I said, we don't want to make the same shirts as everyone else. We want to go Animated for ours, and we have a very good artist. The sky is pretty much the limit as far as design goes, as per "creating" the scenario of each shirt type.

We can essentially animate any scenario with our artist and have it look pretty amazing, you think it, we create it and print it in literally 16 million colors, using plastisol.

I simply wanted to come out with a line, that was the polar opposite of the norm. But I want the shirts below $20, and of the highest quality possible.
