Correct.

It'll be discussed extensively, anyway.

The other thing I agree was a little BS on their part. That was most definitely in the category of spam.

But I don't see how articles directly pertaining to UFC subjects from a site that doesn't even have any kind of MMA forum anywhere near it...is considered spam. Spam has a definition and articles that directly pertain to UFC being posted in a UFC forum...that is clearly not defined as spam.

By the way thanks to all the mods for understanding...it makes me feel a lot better about this site. I know it's not you guys, it's Vertical Sports.

Tbh man if it was only up to me I'd have let you post your article the way you wanted to. But this is the rule (one that I dont necessarily like tbh) and that's how things've always been posted here

Tbh honest I kinda agree with it, its their business why should they want people coming into their business to make money. plus I think it is also just a situation of convenience for members not to have to travel to another site to read the blog/article why is it so hard to just post the whole article in the opening post? honestly im not posting this to start an argument or anything just posting a different view on the subject, what it truly comes down to is it's VS's forums if they said people could post just the link or half a blog I would say ok good ta know if they tell me not to let people I do the same thing and say ok good ta know, its their website and they just allow me to post on it is the way i see it in which I gladly do so for I love it here and allot of the people that post here including yourself even though you dont think to highly of me at the present moment but I am used to that from people I like on here lol.

Articles are not in competition for their earnings for this site. This site doesn't have an article section so that's not how they make money. In fact, if it wasn't for people writing articles on other sites, this forum would be boring and empty. Article sites need forums for exposure, and forums need article sites for content. They are SUPPOSED to work together, that's how the internet works. It's a community. But Vertical Sports takes the unethical route and just wants to hog all the traffic so they can collect AdSense revenue from Google Ads.

There's no real logical reason other than pure greed for them to force members to not view other sites. They make a ridiculous amount of money and all they have to do is sit back and wait for people to click ads (meanwhile you mods and us members are doing all the leg work for NO PAY). The longer people are on their site the more chances they have to get ad clicks. But people are on this site 24 hours a day, constantly. To have about 70 members (this is the amount of page views I got from this site) take a few minutes to read a UFC related article is not going to affect them in any way shape or form.

My favorite reason they want us to post the whole article is because it pretty much guarantees that each page of that thread will contain relevant, high-paying ads, due to the mass amount of keywords that are going to be copy and pasted onto the first post. Essentially, they are trying to steal keywords in order to make more money. Ethical? Sure why not.

Plus I worked hard researching, writing, editing, formatting, and publishing my work, I don't want it to be seen in a shitty gray quote box and have to re-format it all again to make it look the way I intended.

Anyone who agrees with this rule...I don't ever want to see you make a post about how the UFC acting like they own MMA is messed up. EVER. I WILL CALL YOU OUT ON IT

I agree with everything but the third sentence of the first paragraph.

I add to my knowledge of MMA and the history/application/integration of related arts every day on this site. I've never once been ridiculed for the fact that I didn't know all this stuff 10 years ago, or don't know about the fighters or promotions that are considered "better" due to a pointless and unfounded elitism.

The information I get every day adds to my experience and ability in my own practice of combat sports, and I pass it on to the people in the growing standup striking/JJ type grappling classes I take.

I've gotten the best training/nutrition advice on this site than any other. Some of it came from you WL2FU, 3 years ago when I broke my ankle, and I haven't forgotten it.

I'm just a small representation of the skyrocketing numbers of women in martial arts/combat sports, and despite their participation, they are only a very small percentage of the MMA/UFC audience so far. Either way this forum has been by far the most helpful resource.

I agree with this. I have learned a lot of things about a lot of stuff from this site. This site has a lot of knowledge on it.

they do have a blog section on here if you would like to use it

you go off on them for wanting money but a main real reason you dont want to post the full article is because you make money if people go to the other site to view your blog. which is fine and dandy and I would want it to but I would not come on here and expect them to let me make money off of them.

this part bugged me too because I gave you an example of a very logically reason in the post you quoted but you I guess chose to ignore it

it really is a convenience thing for me, I hate having to leave the site to look at information in threads that is the reason I loved that they made it so we could embed allot of movies on here so i did not have to leave the website to go to youtube every time I wanted to see a video, and yes this also deals with blog/articles being fully posted on here also.

Didn't know about the article section, and the blogs suck nobody reads those. My point still stands that article sites are not in competition with MMAforum.

70 Page views on both articles and I made 17 cents, compared to MMAforums $5000+ a month on this forum alone (not including all their other forums)). I don't write on that site to make money, that would be a waste of time. I write there cuz I like their platform and editors. I write for other sites to make money, and not about UFC topics either, they make pretty much no money at all, but generic topics tend to.

I didn't see a "logical" reason anywhere in your post

Personally I think that's your choice but I don't think I should be forced to copy and paste a 5000 word 2-page article just cuz some people are too lazy to click a link. That's a bit absurd IMO.

Point also still stands that MMAforum is trying to steal keywords to make more money.

They are in one instance, which is why that rule is there in the first place; I thought we were in agreement on that point.
