mma training gloves

I recently ordered some gloves from combatsports.com. These are more padded than normal MMA gloves, for the purpose of sparring. Supposedly, they have the same force-dispersing ability of 16 oz boxing gloves. Does anyone know if that is, in fact true?

I'll figure out the truth when they arrive, but until then, I'm pretty antsy to hear what people have to say about them. here's the link to the product: Lace-Up MMA Safety Training Gloves from Combatsports.com

GFG has a little shameless behaviour in the past
to me it's all about the thickness of the padding if the thickness is only 1.5" there is no way it will protect your training parnter as well as a pair of boxing gloves that has a thick 2" padding and is 2-3" wider hen a mma glove. just my opinion

THey work pretty well so far. The padding is pretty thick and there's no such thing as a boxing glove that has 3 inches of knuckle padding.

i agree. i got 2 paires of boxing gloves, 12oz and 20oz. the 12oz has 1-1.5 inch of padding and the 20oz has around 2 inches

ummm... the professional fighters at my gym use the non-laceup version of these gloves to spar mma prior to fights. I suppose the EliteXC 160# champion is a noob though...

3" inches wider not thick but there are boxing gloves that are 3inch thick over the knuckles. hell the only boxing gloves that we sell that have less then 2inches of padding over the knuckles are our kids gloves or old school bag gloves.

regardless i'm glad the gloves are working out for you
