Jiu Jitsu Gi

Hey,

I am thinking of buying a new gi, was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations to a good, tough lightweight one. At the moment I have a Koral MKM that weighs a ton, it feels as though I have a small child strapped to by back! (its also a bit too big as I didn't realise it was pre-shrunk).

Does anyone have a tip? I am after something lightweight and durable?

i have 4 gi's and the lightest one is the keiko raca summerweave... the problem is the fit.. the collars open up way too much when rolling that you are basically almost undone halfway through a roll..

the padilla and sons are light (i have a gold weave) but it shrank more than the keiko.. and keiko's are notorious for shrinkage.. i never machine dry any gi and follow all instructions to a T and yet it still happened..

i also have the gameness gi in pearl and platinum and both are heavier than the keiko raca.

i like training with heavier gis so when i do compete and wear my lightweight gi,i am faster and move better...

Thanks for the advice. I was looking at the Keiko summer gi, but wasnt quite sure. I think I will give it a try, but and will keep the shrinkage in mind! My Koral gi is starting to break in a lot more now, so hopefully it wont be too bad either.

I need a decent cheap, light one with preferable cheap shipping to UK. Anyone got any tips?

Have a look on http://dragonbleu.fr/home.php - I use them a fair bit, the shipping is OK and they have a decent selection.

if not then there is also http://www.martialartshop.co.uk/jujitsu_uniforms.htm

I own two Gi's: An Ouano and a Koral

The Ouano is a Pearl Weave - Fairly lightweight

The Koral is a Gold Weave - Medium Weight

They are both great gi's but I prefer the Ouano. Just a very comfortable gi that holds up very well.
