Ouanu UFC glove sizing

Hey, I want to order a pair of the official UFC gloves, but I dont know how to measure my knuckels. I dont think im doing it the right way since Im a shorter kid and measure a large. At this site, Sherdog Online Store - Official UFC Gloves it says my hand is as big as Chuck Liddel and Ken Shamrock, which is hard for me to believe. I appreciate all the help I can get.

The standard glove sizing chart uses this:

To size the gloves correctly, I believe you measure the width of your hand across the knuckles. Knuckle width is the measurement across the palm of your hand.

The sizes go:

S/M = 3 3/8" knuckle width or smaller
M/L = 3 3/8" - 3 3/4" knuckle width
L/XL = 3 3/4" or bigger knuckle width

You have to remember that the gloves only cover the top of your hand down to the second knuckle and not the whole finger length. A little bit of leaway is alright beacuse it takes into account that wristwraps will go on under the gloves. Unlike standard finger gloves, if the gloves aren't completely snug, it won't make that much of a difference.

It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree... As long as I don't bore you and I spark a moment of thought, my goal is achieved.

glove size and palm type...

i was about to order some new Ouano gloves too... it "seems" that i remember my old ones were XL, my motorcycle gloves are XL, and according to the chart below at 9+" measured around my knuckles... it also says XL. so it seems like a no brainer, but when ordering online, it sucks to have to return things and wait all over again. i don't really feel i have larger than normal hands. current weight is 240lbs at 6 ft, but may cut down to 205??? anybody with any insight that has recently ordered them online?

also, any pref for the full open palm vs the thumb strap? i see the UFC glove is offered in both, the KOTC only with strap, and the hyabusa with a custom palm system...

Size Knuckle Size
S 7" - 7.5"
M 7.5" - 8"
L 8" - 8.5"
XL 8.5" - UP

Dan Bobish - X-Large
Randy Couture - X-Large
Vitor Belfort - Large
Chuck Liddell - Large
Kevin Randleman - Large
Pedro Rizzo - Large
Ken Shamrock - Large

what did they offer to do about it? will they re-ship for free, or give you a discount or other free products? let us know how they handle their mistake. that is one of the other online ordering probs, not just the size, but getting something that is different from the picture shown. i have not been able to find the gloves sold locally, so i will have to guess on the size and order... i hope they fit. but whatever i order better be exactly what is shown in the pic... most of the guys at the place i may be training have ouano and other gloves, maybe i can try some on b4 i order.

when/if i do decide to add an MMA/bodybuilding section to one of my web stores, i plan to make sure that the items are easy to find, see and order. the only problem that can still come up is when one of your suppliers dropships from their location... you don't always see every item, and if they make a change WITHOUT telling the store owner or web manager, mistakes come up...

that picture does show the UFC in big bold letters on the glove...

This is the e-mail i sent to sherdog, take into consideration i live in the UK and it cost me $20 just for S&H.

______________

Hi, i few weeks ago i ordered the UFC official Ouano gloves from you. But
there was a problem. In the picture you advertise the ones with the big
bold UFC letters accros the glove. the ones I recived are the plain black
ones.
What are you going to do about this because in my oppinion this is false
advertiseing as you are advertiseing the gloves with the UFC letters but
acctualy shipping out plain black ones.

Thanks,
James

______

yes we had a problem with the company and no longer carry them we are just
selling out our stock. The company used to alternate in what type they sent
us so we got tired of changing the picgture and stopped selling them. If you
want you can send them back for a refund.

sounds like they know they are shipping the wrong gloves out to me...

it sounds like since you paid $20 to ship them to you, and it would cost at least $20 or more, plus your time to send them back, they are figuring you will just keep them. IMO, you should get "your choice" of a partial refund to make up for them being different, a full refund including shipping each way due to the false advertising (even if it was accidental)... or at the VERY least store credit for the price of the gloves... i own, and have owned several different types of businesses, and those are the choices i would have offered if i was accidentally shipping something other than what was advertised with no disclaimer or mention that they may look different from the picture.

note, the partial refund would be nice, since the letters wear off anyway...
