If you need a good all-platform show that is acceptable for the mat/ring, go to your local Sporting Goods store to pick up some wrestling shoes. Asics makes a good set of wrestling shoes (like these Matflex shoes here) and usually won't cost you an arm or a leg.

It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree... As long as I don't bore you and I spark a moment of thought, my goal is achieved.

Asics have served me well many times, but i have a pair of Adidas right now that fit just right (providing i ignore the occasional inner heel pain, heh).

But you can't beat the cool of a good old fashion pair of kung fu flip flops

Not that I know of. But do you really need shoes when you're on the mat? I just wear a pair of generic running shoes whenever I'm doing cardio or lifting and I go barefoot when I'm on the mat or in the ring or whatever.

Meh, it all depends on what im feeling, sometimes the mats are gross feeling or w/e and i like to have shoes, but other than that i do barefoot. I just need a shoe that will be with me for lifting/running and that i can wear around. Ill probably wait for more input then grab a pair of cross trainers/running shoes this weekend, i blew the heel out of my shoes now so im stuck with flip flops for 3 days

A lot of places won't allow street/track shoes on the mat or in the ring. It is definitely that way where I train at, and many of the places I've rolled at wouldn't let anyone walk across the mat with street shoes on.

The wrestling shoes are fine for doing your lifting and other normal drills. They are light, provide excellent ankle support and traction. However, they aren't made for running track because they have thinner soles and no arch support. It isn't that they can't be used to run in (a lot of wrestlers do it all the time), they just aren't anywhere near as comfortable or forgiving. If you have a history of foot or ankle problems, I wouldn't recommend running in wrestling shoes.

Given that, if you don't mind going barefoot on the mat or in the ring just go barefoot. Get a set of running shoes for when you leave to hit the track.

It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree... As long as I don't bore you and I spark a moment of thought, my goal is achieved.

Hi,
I would suggest you to go for flats. they are most comfortable and you can wear them for hours.
