Help With New Barbell

Hey guys, im looking for A barbell and need a bit of advice, i just bought a benchpress the other day and i obviously now need a barbell and weights to start. Any ideas where? what bar? or how much i shud spend? buying fitness equipment is all new to me, i usually train at the gym.

If you're just starting out, 250 lbs - 300 lbs should be plenty. If you're really serious about weightlifting and what not then you'll eventually need more weights. You'll definitely be safe with 500 lbs most likely (depending on your size).

As for the barbell, go with an olympic sized one. I have a 45 lb barbell like almost every other gym I've attended.

I heartily accept the motto, "That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically.

Err, newyorkbarbells.com I think it is, that or newyorkbarbell.com just google nybarbell its the first one. Great place to buy weightlifting stuff
