I've read endless threads about heavy bags but still have a couple of questions. I have no where to hang a true heavy bag which is very unfortunate, so I figure I'll make due with a freestanding bag. I'm a big guy, 6'3" and 290, what freestanding bags do you guys recommend? I was looking at the ringside bag freestander and the title reflex freestander, I've heard the wavemasters will knock over and break at the base? Thanks for your help.
I have been looking into bag stands and have been running into similar issues. I think breaking it down after a workout would be better than a stand up unit and I am only 6' tall. You have a few inches on me, it would be like boxing a little kid. I am not sure how much room you have to play with but I know Everlast makes a corner stand that would still give you enough room to park, you would just have to drag it out to use the speed bag side. They sell them @ Dick's Sporting Goods or online @ www.titlemma.com.
I have played with some of the stand up bags at the gym and can easily kick and punch over them and they don't always stand so well. I prefer my 100lb bag, I even use it for grappling applications.
DONT get a heavybag with stand, ive had that and you cant move around it, you trip over it and you have to leg kick it at a certain angle. Those stupid wavemasters are for kids, If I were you id look into a better freestanding bag maybe from fairtex or ringside. Go online youll find something goodluck
Thanks for the replies guys, I will definetly take your info into consideration on my quest for a heavy bag. I'm looking into the ringside freestander and I would like to see if I can mount a real heavy bag with possibly the wall mount if I have clearance over my tool bench.
