punching bag questions

alright so im planning on buying a bag this pay day, ive never really boxed or anything before and im wondering whats a good weight of a bag to get?? im not a very big or strong guy or anything (about 5'10, 160lbs) if that helps at all

also could you suggest what type/size/weight/anything else that might matter of gloves to buy??

haha i really no nothing about this i just want something to swing at and maybe teach myself a few things on, thanks for any help

CFF-FIT has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I would go with a 70 - 100 lb bag depending on what kind of training you are looking too do. I have a 100 lb heavy bag and 100lb Muay Thai and used them based on how I train that day. You should be able to get a good bag (Not a piece of junk) for $80 - $150.

usually a bag 1/2 the weight your opponent would be in your case 80lb heavy bag. Check craigslist they always have brand new bags for way cheap.

I cannot agree more. Craigslist is probably your best bet to find a good, but affordable bag. You can pick up a 70 lb bag for about $50 or less depending on what area yoiu are from. They have them all over the place here in Lancaster, PA.
