Can you help me decide what gear to get, etc.

Hey I have gone to some gyms for MMA but the places around here are really expensive. I have to pay car insurance now and dont want to spend another 1000 every 6 months on top of that. So my friend and I are going to start training together at his house. He has a large upstairs that is all his with a big square for sparring and a couple of mattresses up there that can be used as mats for take downs and such.

So anyways I am wondering what gear should i buy for us to train with. I have some of the bas rutten stuff on cd's that i downloaded but i dont have them all. I cant even remember what series it is, but it goes through striking, take downs, blocking, etc.

Is there any other videos or Series i should download or consider buying with my training gear? Btw we have a big 72inch plasma with surround sound to play the dvds on =p.

i bought the Ceasar gracie jiu jitsu series and ran with that for about a month before i started training in a real facility. It was very clear and easy to follow and is very affordable for a 3 disc series that holds lots of good information on sport jiu jitsu.

Also i would get some punch mitts and shields or some thai pads depending on what you guys are planning on doing.

Im not sure what your budget is but groundfighter.com is a good source of instructional dvds and Title boxing is where i've gotten the majority of my gear.
