I am a Dentist with a passion for MMA. Understanding that the mouth guard is one of the most important pieces of equipment for the mixed martial artist, I have decided to redesign and develop a mouth guard based on science and the SPECIFIC need of the MMA fighter. The guards out there, in my opinion, have been developed not with the the MMA fighter in mind but rather for football..hockey or other sports and then simply been adopted to the MMA fighter community with fancy colors and verbiage. It is time for somebody to take a serious look into the needs and requirements of guards for MMA fighters. I am here to enlist your help! I am looking for feedback on things you like about your guard...things you don't like. Things you think could make a mouth guard better.. the more information I can gather the better the prototypes and faster we can get this out there. Please note that I am not here to compete with the boil and bite guards or the simple vacuum form "custom" guards spammed all over the Internet. I am looking to develop a truly MMA specific masterpiece that will be custom made specific for each fighter taking into consideration each fighter unique upper AND LOWER TEETH ( the only way to properly balance a guard is to have an impression of the lower teeth as well FYI)fighting style and numerous other characteristics. Beyond the protecting the TMJ, Teeth and minimizing concussions a kip guard should be able to increase stamina balance and yes even increase you chances of not being knocked out. IRON CHIN.
