Glove Question

I just started MMA a couple weeks ago and I need some training gloves. Most of the guys at my gym have regular boxing style looking gloves.

I'm 16 and turning 17 in a couple months. I weight 138 pounds and muscular. I'm not looking to purchase multiple sets of gloves just yet, so what would be some nice gloves for my gym(some light sparring, bags, ect)?

I also would like to spend less then 50 or 60. Also where should I get em and what brand/model?

Same thing about shorts, whats a decent brand(I saw that Warrior is pretty good. I'm a little shy about getting Tapout just because it so stereotypical). I'd like to get some sick looking shorts(who doesnt!?) while not spending a fortune.

Thanks for the help guys. So far this sport has been amazing and I've been wanting to do it.

I get most of my gear from, It's a good site, it has fast delivery and cheap gear. There are plenty of other websites out there though if MMA Universe doesn't have what you want just try Googling MMA Gear and you will get a lot of websites that sell good kit or try on Ebay, they always have plenty of stock and it's not second hand stuff like you may think.

I got my Sprawl shorts for $32 and they are great quality. My instructor told me just to go to a sports place like academy, they have the boxing gloves for about $30. You can also try mmawarehouse.con

check for gloves look for 16oz boxing gloves. shorts don't really matter personally i only wear Sprawl shorts, I had 1 pair of tapout shorts that ripped within 3 months of having them so I won't spend $$ on them ever again.
