Types of bags and gloves

Hey guys, i recently put a thread in the wrong section but im new to this forum and i would like to start getting into MMA. First off i need some basica gear. I would like to get a decent bag and some decent gloves. I have all of the strength training equipment. What is a decent bag? (i have a workout room in my house so i cant really hang it from the ceiling, so what are someother types) and some good gloves to match. I am on a budget so something expensive wont really work, but i do want some quality gear. Thanks everybody!

You don't really need to spend a lot of money on a punching bag as long as you get one that weighs around 55 or 70lbs. If your in the States you'll get a decent one for 80 to 100 dollars (I'm in the UK so that's a sort of rough conversion from Pounds to Dollars). If you can't hang it up inside you can get a free standing one those just sit in a little stand but will cost a little more or you could just hang it up outside on your house. As for gloves it's better to get a well known make of gloves because then you know that you are going to get a pair that will last you. I picked up a pair of Lonsdale gloves about a year and a half ago on the cheap and I use them all the time for sparring and bag work and it's only now that I'm coming up on needing a new pair. Make sure to get a 16oz pair, they will seem huge and strange to use at first but they will help increase your hand speed as well as protect your hands and wrists.

My favorite thing to use while boxing is the double-end bag. It is kind of frustrating when you first begin but once you get good at it, it is pretty fun. It basically works your accuracy and speed along with foot movement.

Here is a picture of one.

This might sound like a stupid questions, but whats the difference between a double end bag and a speed bag? i found a stand and a 70 lb. bag for about 170 bucks so i think im gonna get it. Ive been lurching around the forum and i think i found a good brand and stuff. Also, ive been looking at the Gel gloves (i forget the name) are those good for heavy bag stuff? are there any decently priced bag gloves that are of good quality?

thanks guys. i really appreciate.
