Following a recent Cage Warriors 46 main-event victory, Andreas Kraniotakes (13-5) will now fight recent Bellator competitor Mike Hayes (16-4-1) for the organization's vacant heavyweight title.

Cage Warriors officials today confirmed the details with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

The event, Cage Warriors Fight Night 4, takes place March 16 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and the main card streams live on MMAjunkie.com.

The night's preliminary card streams on Cage Warriors' Facebook page.

Kraniotakes submitted Dmitry Poberezhets this past week for his fourth win in five fights. The well-rounded German, whose only loss during the stretch came to former UFC champion Tim Sylvia at ProElite 2, now owns 13 stoppages (eight knockouts and five submission) in 13 career wins.

Hayes, who's also competed with Strikeforce and ROTR, looks for his fifth straight win and his ninth victory in his past 10 fights. His only loss during the streak came to Alexey Oleinik in a Bellator season-three heavyweight-tourney fight. Most recently, he topped Neil Grove via split decision at Bellator 52.

Additional Cage Warriors Fight Night 4 fights will be announced in the coming weeks.

Has anyone noticed that MMA in the middle east has been picking up?

elitemmaclothin 03-07-2012 02:18 PM

Kanto it has for sure. Its been a long time coming over there but hell its finally getting there. I really dont care where the fights are the more the better for the sport

kantowrestler 03-08-2012 02:53 AM

That is definately true. It also builds a bigger market for regional promotions. However, the UFC will reign supreme for a long time.

There is literally no interest in MMA in the Middle-east however there is alot of money over there (mostly owned by 1% of the population who ironically are sponsoring these events) and an interest in all things Western, this is purely a phase that will probably burn out (unfortunately).

The case with Brazil is that there are 200m people in that country and LOADS are watching it on free TV when infact there isn't much money in that country, when it comes time to discuss PPV in Brazil the UFC are going to see that the format will not work.

So all the interest in the Middle East is all money driven which is typical. What Dana should consider in Brazil is a lower price on PPV's in Brazil. That way people can actually look into it.

I'm not positive what time this airs Friday, but you can watch the whole thing live on the internet. Prelims on facebook, and the main card on mmajunkie. They added the rest of the main card too:
