If the solid takedown mma guy was very strong and around 220? How often would they be able to take down and at the very least restrain a non-trained street fighter?

There are way too many factors here to make this something that can be considered easily. There's an enormous range in terms of "unsold" streefighters. Some can't even throw a significant punch, so the odds would be stacked much higher.

It also depends on the level of comfort in the ground game and the approach to the ground game. There are a lot of very good grapplers who have styles of grappling that don't translate well to a streetfight, and there are lots that do.

Generally, though, the odds are always going to be stacked in favor of the guy with the most training, and guys who can score takedowns are going to, generally, be capable of neutralizing an incompetent opponent on the street; this is an important lesson learned from the old Gracie videos. If you can't grapple, then you're in a lot of trouble once the fight hits the ground.

Let me guess, youre 220 and have a solid take down game, and some dude you know is talking shit and wants to fight you, and youre trying to figure out your odds of beating him??? Am i close??

No, if that was the case I would call the police and report him. I am also a concealed handgun owner.

I was thinking back to the Royce Grace beginning UFC fights and I think if a bigger fighter around 220 had half of the skills of Royce Grace's and better take downs, that in a street fight against untrained fighters he would win almost every fight if not all. As long as he broke all the rules.

I'm sure a guy like Royce Grace in a real fight would, eye gouge, bite and anything else

I don't think takedowns are ever a good idea in a street fight anyway.

I'm pretty sure avoiding the ground is like the top rule of street fighting.

I've been in a few street fights and I always took the other guy down. I just hold them down until they quit.

I think going down on the ground in street fighting is bad if you are against multiple attackers or the person has a knife.

Police don't punch they take people down.
