Resurrection Fighting Alliance returns June 30 with Joe Stevenson vs. Dakota Cochrane

Quote:
The Kansas-based Resurrection Fighting Alliance returns to action on June 30, and onetime UFC title challenger Joe Stevenson (31-14) faces "The Ultimate Fighter: Live" cast member Dakota Cochrane (11-3) in the evening's lightweight main event.

"RFA 3: Stevenson vs. Cochrane" takes place at the Viaero Event Center in Kearney, Neb. The card is expected to stream for free on RFAFighting.com.

"This main event has the makings to be the RFA's most explosive yet," RFA matchmaker Scott Cutbirth stated. "Dakota is a hometown kid with a big following, and he's excited to take on a championship-caliber fighter like Joe Stevenson."

Stevenson competes for the first time since a June 2011 loss to Javier Vazquez earned "Daddy" his release from the promotion he had called home since 2005. The winner of the second season of "The Ultimate Fighter," Stevenson fought 16 times in the octagon, but a four-fight losing streak in 2010 and 2011 forced him out of the promotion.

Meanwhile, a graduate of The University of Nebraska Kearney, Cochrane gained national prominence earliuer this year when he was granted a spot on the cast of "The Ultimate Fighter: Live." However, he lost to James Vick via split decision in the season's first episode and never made it into the "TUF" house. Professionally, his greatest accomplishment thus far has been a September 2011 win over former WEC champ Jamie Varner. However, it's a brief run in gay pornography that most MMA fans seem to focus on most.

Tickets for the event, which run from $22 to $100 are currently on sale at KearneyEvents.com. Other notables on the card include James Krause, Chidi Njokuani and Maurice Smith, among others.

The latest Resurrection Fighting Alliance 3 card includes:

Joe Stevenson vs. Dakota Cochrane
Ryan Lopez vs. Maurice Smith
Bobby Cooper vs. Chidi Njokuani
Jesse Jenkins vs. Jesus Adame
Amir Khillah vs. James Krause
Nick Macias vs. Lance Palmer
Matt Manzanares vs. Aaron Ely
Jeremy Mier vs. T.J. Hepburn
Carl Postma vs. TBD

Can't wait to see Joe again, been almost a year. Thanks for the heads up, and I'm sure he's still got it and will be fun to watch he was just going against stiff competition and the UFC got to be too much.

So we have a veteran trying to get back into the UFC and an old champion still trying to relive his former glory.

Casey Jones has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Big fan of Joe, moving up to his hometown and planning to train at his gym.

Meh, Joe was never the same after BJ destroyed him, I compare it to Dave Lousiou and Rich Franklin.

So you're basically saying that the fight with BJ was a career changer is that it? Well it wouldn't be the first time a fighter was never the same after being destroyed. Brock only fought once since being destroyed by Cain but his fight with Overeem wasn't any better.
