A title fight between fast-rising featherweight champion Conor McGregor (11-2) and challenger Jim Alers (8-1) will headline Cage Warriors Fight Night 7, officials today announced.

The event also features the conclusion of Cage Warriors' middleweight tournament with Victor Cheng (9-2) vs. Pavel Kusch (13-2).

The event takes place Sept. 1, and the main card streams on (

New Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan, plays host to the event, which will include Facebook-streamed prelims.

McGregor recently won the title with a second-round submission victory over Dave Hill, which took place at Cage Warriors 47 in his native Ireland. The 23-year-old UFC hopeful now has won seven straight fights, all via stoppage (five in the first round). Prior to the Hill victory, he knocked out Aaron Jahnsen and Steve O'Keefe in previous Cage Warriors fights.

He takes on Alers, a Florida-based prospect who pushed his current win streak to four fights with a second-round TKO of Matteus Lahdesmaki at Cage Warriors Fight Night 6. All of his career wins have come via stoppage, including six via submission.

Cheng and Kusch, meanwhile, will fight only if injured Cheng is healed in time from an injury, which has already delayed the eight-man tourney's conclusion. If not, the winner of next week's Chris Fields vs. John Phillips headliner at Cage Warriors 48 gets the spot.

The ultimate winner of the tourney also will be named Cage Warriors' middleweight champion.
