Round 1 - Herb Dean refs the action. Sayers fakes a left and Smith backs away. Overhand right from Smith is off the mark, and Sayers quickly takes him down. But it's Smith who winds up on top - and in full mount, no less. Sayers controls his posture for now, but Smith looks for some elbows and short fists to the side of the head. Looks like Smith has the body triangle latched on pretty well as Sayers tries to find a way out. And eventually, he does. Sayers works his way to the top, but Smith looks for a choke. But Smith then rolls things back over. After a short scramble, they get back to their feet, where Sayers lands a nice punch. Knee to the body from Smith, and Sayers just misses a big uppercut. Smith kicks Sayers' left leg out from under him. But a slip has both fighters on the ground, and Smith is looking for a triangle choke while Sayers hopes for ground-and-pound. But Smith has it latched on nicely, and Sayers has to tap.Anthony Smith def. Lumumba Sayers via submission (triangle choke) - Round 1, 3:52
