Free agent bantamweight Tyson Nam, fresh off of an impressive KO of Bellator's current champion,
has officially signed with World Series of Fighting,
and will debut at WSOF 2 in January against the winner of Miguel Torres vs. Marlon Moraes.

After raising his profile with a stunning win over Eduardo Dantas in enemy territory, bantamweight Tyson Nam has a place he can call home for the next several fights. Today, Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com confirmed that Nam has joined WSOF and will debut in January against the winner of Miguel Torres vs. Marlon Moraes.

The bantamweight fighter, who grew in popularity after knocking out Bellator champion Eduardo Dantas Jr. in August, has signed an exclusive four-fight contract with World Series of Fighting, Ali Abdel-Aziz, the promotion's executive vice president, confirmed with MMAFighting.com on Wednesday night.

According to Abdel-Aziz, Nam will face the winner of Miguel Torres vs. Marlon Moraes, scheduled for Nov. 3 in Las Vegas, at a yet-to-be announced second WSOF event in January. No date or location has been finalized for the January event.

Bellator actually had signed Nam several months ago, but they never gave him a fight and released him. When Nam (12-4) had the nerve to knock out their champion, Bellator felt the need to exercise their "matching clause" powers and threaten legal action. Luckily for Nam, Bellator decided not to match WSOF's offer and now Tyson is the latest signing for the upstart promotion.

Nam was a relative unknown for the Dantas fight, but his major upset has propelled him into the spotlight and hopefully he makes the most of it this January.

Surprised the UFC didn't go after him tbh.

Well the UFC is probably looking at other prospects and besides this is another one for the upstart promotion on what is formerly Versus.

Can't really see what talent they'd be looking for if that was the case. Nam just KO'd a Bellator champion and their 135 divison needs all the talent they could get.

Well for some reason Bellator opted not to keep this guy after they signed him and released him. Why they did this I do not know. It was their loss so they let him go and he signed with World Series of MMA.
