Welterweights - Unbeaten, Unassigned Fighters *Version 4, 2013*

Lewis Gonzalez – 7-0-0 - American – 25 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 17-7, Last Fought: Oct ‘12
Gonzalez is a star wrestler, and has been wrestling since the age of 6. He wrestled at Turlock High School and won back-to-back State Championships as both a junior and senior. The American has been training in MMA since he was 19, and made his debut at 21. He had a perfect 3-0 amateur record, and is now 7-0 as a professional. So far he has finished all 7 of his fights (including 4 in the 1st round), with 2 submission wins and 5 stoppages due to punches. He has fought good opposition so far in his young career, with wins over Preston Scharf (12-13) and Daniel Price (5-3). Most recently he won the Caged Combat welterweight title with a 2nd round TKO of Bobby Stack (8-2).

Ryan Dickson – 5-0-0 - Canadian – 23 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 14-5, Last Fought: Nov ‘12
The lone Canadian fighter on the welterweight list, Dickson is one of the most promising prospects from the country. Dickson is 5-0, and including his perfect 3-0 amateur record, he has finished every opponent he has ever faced. The young Canadian comes from a high school wrestling base, and he trains under former UFC fighter Jeff Joslin. The grappler has submitted 4 of his 5 opponents, with one TKO victory. Last year he signed for Canada’s top promotion Score Fighting Series, and in his first 2 fights for the promotion he has impressively beaten Brandt Dewsberry (10-1) and Chris St. Jean (5-3).

Brandon Becker – 4-0-0 - American – 28 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 4-3, Last Fought: Aug ‘12
American fighter Becker has been wrestling since the age of 4 and was a wrestling star at university - his accomplishments include being a 3 time All-American wrestler at Indiana and a state champion. He has spent time training with UFC fighter and fellow Indiana wrestler Dave Herman, and fights for the CFFC promotion. Becker has finished all 4 fights (2 TKO’s & 2 submissions), with 3 of the victories coming in the very first round. In June last year he gained an impressive submission win over Bellator veteran Cedric Marks (29-22).

Tom Breese – 6-0-0 - English – 21 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 19-8, Last Fought: Dec ‘12
At 21 years old, Tom Breese is one of the youngest fighters on this list, and he has fought his entire professional career for top British promotion BAMMA. He’s the current BAMMA British welterweight champion – a title he won in December with an impressive 1st round submission of the once beaten Warren Kee (7-1). Prior to this he gained another notable win over Jack Magee (7-4). Before turning professional, Breese had an extensive amateur career in which he finished with an unbeaten 8-0-1 record. The Englishman has never gone to the judges’ scorecards as a professional, with 5 submission victories and a knockout - among them 5 first round finishes.

Tyler Manawaroa – 8-0-0 - Australian – 18 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 7-7, Last Fought: Aug ‘12
At 18 years old, Manawaroa is the youngest fighter out of all 200 on the 2013 list, and rises 16 places from the 2012 list to take the number 5 spot this year. His record is incredible considering his age – he has won all 8 fights, and finished all but one of them inside the first 2 rounds. The Australian made his MMA debut at just 16 years old, and has stayed active since – fighting 3 times in 2011 and 5 times in 2012. Manawaroa has fought for a variety of Australian promotions, and has several impressive wins already in his young career – most notably his most recent fight, a dominant unanimous decision win over grappling champion Eugene Bareman (3-2).

Murad Abdulaev – 11-0-0 - Russian – ?? Years Old - Opponent W/L: 17-11, Last Fought: Nov ‘12
Russian fighter Abdulaev has the 2nd most wins on the welterweight list with 11. Abdulaev trains out of Legion fight team - arguably Russia’s top camp, which also houses Artur Alibulatov, Marat Gafurov & Rasul Magomedov, who are all part of this year’s 205 fighters in different weight classes. The Russian has fought for a variety of European promotions including M1, FCF and Fight Nights. He is not naturally a finisher and has gone to a decision in 6 of his 11 fights, but the other 5 wins all came in the first round. After fighting 7 times in 2011, he fought a more sensible 2 times last year. He has beaten some excellent opposition so far, and his wins include Viktor Halmi (14-3), Arbi Agujev (10-5), Vadim Korablin (7-2) & Albert Tumenov (4-0).

Leandro Silva – 9-0-1 - Brazilian – ?? Years Old - Opponent W/L: 13-6, Last Fought: Aug ‘12
The first of 6 Brazilian’s on the welterweight list, Silva trains out of famous Brazilian camp Chute Boxe – which has previously brought through fighters such as Anderson Silva, Mauricio Rua & Wanderlei Silva. Nicknamed ‘Buscape’, he is a submission brown belt and won his first 7 fights by submission. In his most recent 2 fights for the Nitrix promotion, he has had a major step up in competition, and won 2 impressive unanimoius decisions against Gilmar Lima (20-7) and Franklin Jensen (11-1).

Dwayne Hinds – 8-0-0 - Trinidadian – 29 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 11-6, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
Hinds is unsurprisingly the lone fighter from Trinidad & Tobago on the list. He has fought all of his fights in either Trinidad or the UK, and in 2011 he got a great win over UFC veteran Gideon Ray (17-13). Born in Trinidad, he migrated to USA when he was 3 years old where he grew up wrestling. He excelled at the sport and earned a District Championship and was selected to the All New Jersey All-Star Team by the time he was a senior. The 28 year old is extremely well rounded, and asides from his wrestling career he is also talented at judo and boxing – since returning to Trinidad he has won 2 national judo championships and is the reigning national boxing champion.

Walter Gahadza – 10-0-0 - English – 24 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 9-15, Last Fought: Oct ‘12
The second English fighter in the top 10, Gahadza has one of the most impressive records on the welterweight list at 10-0. Out of his 10 wins, Gahadza has finished 9 of them in the very first round, with the other being a hard fought majority decision victory. ‘The Sniper’ is well rounded and has won 5 fights by submission and 4 by TKO. Gahadza trains out of Team Sure Grip – an up and coming camp out of Essex in the UK. In 2012 he has stepped up in competition to beat Manuel Garcia (22-14), Paul Cook (10-2) and Tautvydas Lileikis (6-4); which has helped him rise 13 places from the 2012 list to take the number 9 spot this year.

Nicolas Dalby – 9-0-0 - Danish – 28 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 24-12, Last Fought: Aug ‘12
The lone fighter from Denmark out of all 205 fighters, Dalby has beaten some of Europe’s top prospects. His opponents have a combined record of 24-12, and his career highlights include ending the unbeaten streaks of Acoidan Duque (5-0) and Glenn Sparv (4-0). The 28 year old Danish fighter comes from a karate background and is best known for his stand up, of which he possesses a nasty ‘sharpshooter’ head kick. Dalby won the Fighter Gala Welterweight title in October 2011 when he knocked out Mindaugas Baranauskas (5-2) in just 90 seconds, and in his most recent fight he impressively beat veteran Ivica Truscek (19-11).

Sergey Khandozhko – 9-0-1 - Russian – 20 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 6-6, Last Fought: Oct ‘12
Russian fighter Khandozhko has not had much time in the octagon, as he has finished 8 of his 9 fights in the very first round, including 29 and 39 second knockouts. The Russian fighter is primarily a stand up specialist and has knocked out his last 4 opponents in the first round. The 20 year old has fought each of his fights in Eastern Europe, and in his most recent fight he stepped up in competition to knock out Wiktor Sobczyk (12-4) for the Pro FC organisation.

Jason Cardillo – 5-0-0 - American – 29 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 9-7, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
American fighter Jason Cardillo is a wrestling specialist who was a division 1 wrestler at university, as well as being the wrestling coach at MMA fight club Pittsburgh, where he also trains. Cardillo was an amateur champion in an amateur career which saw him go 5-0 with 4 finishes. Since turning professional, he has won all 5 fights, with 3 of them submission wins. His best wins to date are over Jacob Clark (9-5) and Caleb Ball (5-3).

Drew Kennedy – 5-0-0 - American – 27 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 8-4, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
Kennedy had one of the most extensive amateur careers of anyone on this list, as he went 14-3 during his 3 year amateur career, and was the champion of 5 different organisations. Since turning professional he has won all 5 of his fights, and in fact finished all of them by submission (including 3 in the first round). Although he has a very strong submission game, he also has heavy hands, and finished most of his amateur fights due to TKO. He gained his best win in June last year when he handed fellow prospect Blaine Thomas (5-0) his first loss.

Michel Dos Prazares – 16-0-0 - Brazilian – ?? Years Old - Opponent W/L: 22-12, Last Fought: Jun ‘12
Nicknamed ‘Trator’, Dos Prazares has the most wins out of any of the 205 fighters on this year’s list with an impressive 16 wins (which include 8 submission victories). A former middleweight, he is a short but stocky welterweight, in the Palhares/Lombard mould. The grappling specialist is a black belt in jiu-jitsu and has previously trained with the likes of Lyoto Machida. Prazares had his first MMA fight 12 years ago in the year 2000, and has fought sporadically since. Last year he was a little more active and had 2 fights – most recently ending the 9-1 streak of Leandro Silva (18-6). He also holds a win over Andre Lobato (5-0).

Craig Turner – 5-0-0 - English – ?? Years Old - Opponent W/L: 13-11, Last Fought: Jun ‘12
Englishman Turner is a Jimmy Wallhead protégé, who trains at Team Rough House alongside Dan Hardy & Andre Winner. Turner comes from a boxing background, and has finished 3 of his 5 fights by TKO. The Englishman won the Made 4 The Cage welterweight title in his most recent fight in June when he knocked out Kyle Redfearn (5-3). He is a big welterweight, and also holds wins over the experienced Shaun Lomas (13-29) and Leslie Ojugbana (12-12).

Abus Magomedov – 7-0-0 - German – 22 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 7-9, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
The first of 3 Germans on the welterweight list, Magomedov is a lanky welterweight at 6’2”. He has won all 7 fights since making his debut in 2010, and he has finished 4 of his 7 wins (3 TKO’s & 1 submission). The 22 year old is a stand up specialist, and his best wins are over Igor Montes (7-9) and David Rosmon (7-6). The young welterweight is scheduled to step up in competition in his next fight as he is scheduled to fight Jessin Ayari (9-2) in February.

Kokichi Katahira – 6-0-1 - Japanese – ?? Years Old - Opponent W/L: 8-12, Last Fought: Nov ‘12
After being ranked number 30 on the 2012 middleweight list, Katahira dropped to welterweight last year and has since won 2 and drawn 1. Katahira is the winner of the 2011 DEEP Future King Tournament at 185 pounds, beating Kazuki Nomoto (4-4) in the final. On his way to winning the 8 man 1 night tournament, Katahira finished all 3 fights via Submission, and all 3 in fact by kimura. He has finished all 6 of his wins in the very first round, with 2 TKO’s and 4 wins via kimura. In his most recent fight he submitted Teruhiko Kubo (10-11).

William Macario – 6-0-0 - Brazilian – 21 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 7-4, Last Fought: Jun ‘12
21 year old Macario has finished all 6 fights, with 5 of them via TKO and 1 submission. Of these wins, all but one of them has come in less than 3 minutes. Macario has had some pro kickboxing experience, and won the Rio FC welterweight title when he TKO’d Gabriel Monkey (4-2) in 2011. He has fought for a variety of Brazilian promotions during his career, and beat Paulo Silva (3-2) in his most recent fight in September.

Michael Erdinc – 6-0-0 - German – 25 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 12-6, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
German fighter Erdinc rises 5 places from the 2012 list to number 19 this year, thanks to an impressive TKO win over fellow prospect Djamil Chan (5-1) in September – his first fight in over a year. The 25 year old fights for the German RFC promotion, and is predominantly a stand up fighter, as evidenced by 4 TKO wins in 6 fights. His next fight is scheduled for February when he takes on Thomas Berset (7-1).

Vlad Popovskiy – 5-0-0 - Moldovan – 22 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 7-8, Last Fought: Dec ‘12
Moldovan fighter Popovskiy trains at CSA Moldova – the same camp as his compatriot and the number 5 heavyweight prospect Ion Cutelaba. Popovskiy is a submission specialist and has finished 4 of his fights via submission (3 of these by armbar); including 35 and 38 second wins. In August 2011 he won a 4 man one night welterweight tournament, where he beat Vitaly Ostrovskiy (5-8) and Mariusz Radziszewsky (7-8).

Yuri Moura – 5-0-0 - Brazilian – 28 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 5-8, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
Moura is a Brazilian fighter that is one of the top prospects out of the Gracie Barra Bahia camp. The 28 year old has been fighting twice a year since 2010, and he has finished 4 of his 5 fights in the first round (3 submissions and 1 KO). Moura has fought for a variety of Brazilian promotions, but mostly fought for Demo Fight. He has a couple of good wins over Renato Castro (10-6) and Wanderson Silva (7-8).

Mohsen Bahari – 5-0-0 - Norwegian – 28 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 10-8, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
Bahari is the only fighter from Norway out of all 205 fighters, and is another of 13 Europeans on a European-rich welterweight list. He is a protégé of top MMA fighter Joachim Hansen and he has a great stand up game, with 4 of his 5 wins coming due to punches. The 28 year old has fought for a variety of European promotions, including CWFC and BAMMA where he has beaten Lee Barnes (6-7) and Piotr Ptasinski (4-1). He was also ranked number 8 on the welterweight scouting report.

Piotr Mroz – 5-0-0 - Polish – 20 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 8-4, Last Fought: Nov ‘12
20 year old Polish fighter Piotr Mroz had an extensive amateur career before turning pro, finishing with an impressive 18-4 record. He is a 5 time judo champion for his region in his homeland of Poland, and a champion in the Vietnamese martial art Viet Vo Dao. The 20 year old has finished 3 of his 5 fights in the very first round, and his best win came in June over Mahomed Tulshaev (5-5).

Francisco Landaeta – 7-0-0 - Chilean – ?? Years Old - Opponent W/L: 1-2, Last Fought: Oct ‘12
The only fighter from Chile out of all 205 fighters this year, Landaeta has an impressive 7-0 record. He has also finished every fight, including 4 in the first round, with 3 TKO and 4 submission victories. Landaeta is a jiu-jitsu specialist and holds a purple belt in the discipline. The Chilean a small welterweight that has previously weighed in at 165 pounds, so a move to lightweight is possible in the future.

Nick Barnes – 6-0-0 - American – 22 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 5-6, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
American fighter Nick Barnes is extremely well rounded, and growing up he learnt a variety of martial arts including karate, wrestling & Muay Thai. Since making his debut in 2011, he has fought 6 times, winning each fight comfortably. To date he has not gone to the judges’ scorecards, winning 4 by submission and 2 by TKO (4 of which in the first round). The 22 year old is the Xplode Fight Series welterweight champion, a title he won by beating Carlos Baruch (5-4) in the first round.

Warren De Reuck – 5-0-0 – South African – 31 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 4-6, Last Fought: Dec ‘12
The only South African fighter on the welterweight list, De Reuck moved to England in 2002 and currently trains out of the London Shootfighters gym, where he trains alongside UFC fighters John Hathaway & Karlos Vemola. De Reuck is an excellent karate fighter, and teaches the sport when he is not fighting. He has finished each of his 5 fights, and with 3 TKO and 2 submission wins. In December he returned from a 2 year hiatus and won for the Indian Super Fight League promotion.

David Zawada – 7-0-0 - German – 22 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 7-6, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
Young German fighter Zawada is the 3rd and final German on the welterweight list. He has an excellent stand up game, and has some pro kickboxing experience in Germany. He has impressively finished 6 of his 7 fights, with 5 first round finishes among them. His wins include a flying knee KO over Florian Ziebert (2-0). The 22 year old has not fought very experienced opposition so far in his career, and in his most recent fight he beat Kerim Engizek (3-3).

Pawel Pawlak – 5-0-0 - Polish – 23 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 8-4, Last Fought: Sep ‘12
The second Polish fighter on the welterweight list, Pawel Pawlak comes from a kickboxing background. Before turning professional he had a solid 4-1 amateur record in his home country, and since turning professional he has won each of his 5 fights. The 23 year old has finished all but 1 of his fights, with 3 of the victories coming due to strikes. He fought twice in 2012, gaining wins over Adam Golonkiewicz (6-4) and Shamil Ilyasov (4-1).

Elias Silverio – 5-0-0 - Brazilian – 26 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 9-4, Last Fought: Dec ‘12
26 year old Brazilian fighter Silverio has been fighting regularly since making his debut late in 2011, including 3 fights in the last 5 months. He started his career with a couple of decision wins, but has won by TKO in each of his last 3 fights. Silverio has fought most his fights for the Brazilian Jungle Fight promotion, but he recently signed a contract with the American based Ring of Combat. His best win came in September over Douglas Bertazini (5-4).

Vladimir Sikic – 6-0-1 - Croatian – 22 Years Old - Opponent W/L: 9-10, Last Fought: Dec ‘12
Sikic is a Croatian fighter that fights out of Berlin, Germany – where he has lived for the last 5 years. He does not come from any martial arts background, so is very well rounded. The 22 year old is unbeaten in his first 7 fights, winning 6 of them and drawing one, with 5 finishes among them (3 TKO’s & 2 submissions). In his most recent fight TKO’d the experienced Igor Montes (8-12).
