Tommorow: a day of major merges in MMA?

With the PRIDE-Ferritas expected to be announce tommorow, other major oganizations will also merge to counter this.

Elite XC, K-1-heros, Strikeforce, Cage Rage and Bodog are said to unite.

--Not only will Showtime, EXC and K-1/Hero's be represented at tomorrow morning's press conference at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, but there will be a few surprise promoters with the idea of announcing all the groups are getting together. Think 1980's Pro Wrestling USA but with fewer stars and no good television. Also expected to be represented as Strikeforce (no surprise, since they are in bed with EXC for PPV and promoter Scott Coker also is the K-1 promoter), Cage Rage from England (which runs head-to-head with UFC on 4/21) and Bodog (key here is if Fedor is announced or not) are all expected to publicly unite. As those who remember this being attempted in wrestling, I hope they can at least all agree on what to get for lunch after the press conference before it falls apart.

at least that'll be something to keep the Ferritas from becoming an MMA monopoly.

Mac Danzig is still on his back; his sweaty, pumped white torso is flushed with the auburn heat that auburn skin produces when it is aroused. His panting, fetching head has been pushed up against the cage by... Marc Bocek’s energetic pounding...

yeah if they don't unite, Pride-Ufc alliance will eat them alive. They won't be able to match the purchasing power for the free-agent fighters. So it's only logical for their self-preservation. This will be a new phase in MMA history, after these mergers dream fights will be more feasible...I think it'll be exciting.

is there a link to anything official throughout this whole mess?

I keep googling shit, and checking main pages of pride and UFC, and I get zero about any of this...

you'd think somebody would be blowing the hell out of their proverbial trumpet at this point at least to crank up stock.

I guess nothing is official 'till a few hours from now when they'll hold a press conference in japan. So there's still a chance that at the last minute everything will fall apart. Sherdog.com, MMAweekly and other mma sites are the one's who cover this plus various Japan sites w/c needed some translation.

Strength in unity, the others have to come together in order to compete, survival mode just kicks in.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

yeah it is smart to counter act the ufc/Pride merger, but I didn't expect it to include pretty much every other major mma promotion except the IFL. As far as name value and finances, they still can't compete. However, if Bodog has a fallout deal with Fedor, Wanderlei can come over and Brock Lesner explodes, they may have a chance. And Sakuraba is still in K1 and Yamamoto will come back some time, so Japan isn't all lost.
