Call me crazy, but I think Franklin would KTFO of Filho!
Dont get me wrong, I love Filho. But I think Rich has proven to be a beast at fighting submission guys. His only losses of his career have been against strikers. Franklin has shown that he can sprawl and brawl with the best of them. I think he would use his size and reach and just frustrate Paulo. Eventually I would see Rich taking it VIA KO.
But the thing about this is I think Filho would blow through Silva. So the best thing in my mind for Rich Franklin would be for Filho to come to the UFC. Because that is the only way he will get his belt back. I used to think Filho would blow through everyone at 185. But I recently watched his like 7 of his fights and I see holes. If he ever fights Hendo or Rich he will lose.

Thats a good post mate,I agree I think Franklin would beat Filho,I have serious doubts however that he will beat Silva in a rematch.Anderson is not going to try and take the fight anywhere but standing, and on his feet he is just too good.I would love to see Rich Franklin as champ again, but I can't see him taking it from Anderson Silva.

Anything can happen in a fight but i don't think fighting Fihlo would be very easy nonetheless for Franklin, but if this were Denis Kang we were talking about, as much as I like Franklin he'd get owned IMO.

ok jdun your crazy franklin is a great fighter and for sure has a good chance but IMO i think filho could take him. franklin has good sprawl but has never faced someone as strong and with as good takedowns as filho not to mention filho being able to ground and pound with elbows ... and his subs are also lightyears ahead of franklins

franklin def has his chances against Filho, so ur not crazy.
Filho is(to me) Arona's smaller twin. But he uses his hands a bit more, and keeps his chin a bit more down. But i think overall hes overrated. He hasnt beat anybody worth mentionning so far, except maybe misaki?
Ninja's career started out strong but hes lost to everybody lately. Chonan is only known because he flyed heel-hooked Anderson Silva, but apart from that hes not that great.
All the others are really unknown or average fighters.
Filho is heavier than franklin if you ask me. And i think he can weight around 205 easily, he wanted to enter the LHW GP in 2003 i think, but was injured(was supposed to face dean lister i think?).
I think this fight would be very good, and like you said, i also think Filho would just run by Anderson Silva, because Franklin uses his hands a lot more than his legs(knees), so its harder to take him down, while Anderson Silva will like to clinch and knee, high kicks, low kicks etc..
Anyways, i think Filho is overrated, but i still think he can pull a victory against Franklin. hes like Matt Hughes, but heavier and with better hands, and better BJJ.

I agree. I only know him for that flying heel hook, and getting KTFO by Baroni @ Bushido 8.

1.Dan Henderson (best overall)
2.Matt Lindland (needs to fight a top MW)
3.Anderson Silva(would lose to 3/6 of thse guys)
4.Rich Franklin (would beat Lindland and Filho)
5.Paulo Filho (fight someone good please)
6.Denis Kang (could beat Franklin but thats it)

I think Filho/Franklins a toss up. It just comes down to whether Paulo can take him down or not. That will decide the fight. I definatly this Hendo would beat him. I really dont see how Filho could win, its a terrible match up for him.
