He was also one of the greatest UFC light heavyweight/middleweight champions of all time.

Frank was my first favorite fighter. he had as big an impact on me as Royce did at UFC 1. His influence started me training and his old vhs workout tapes helped me get into the best shape of my life. For a long time I regarded Frank vs Tito as the best MMA fight of all. I haven't watched this video yet but I think I remember that frank weighed in for that fight fully clothed and with rolls of Quarters in his pockets.

I used to dream of a Frank vs Sakuraba fight. 13-14 years ago that would have been big.

Thanks OP

That would've been an interesting fight.

The first time I saw Frank fight was the time he picked up the russian guy and dumped him on his next. I had never seen something so explosive, an violent before in my whole life, and I had been brought up on a diet of Van Damme movies from the age of 12.
I remember thinking he was the most dangerous man alive, wayyyy more dangerous then his big brother. Its such a shame things were such a mess back then, otherwise we would have had an amazing tito/frank rivalry for years, and frank would have easily established himself as a ufc legend, and be sitting in the hall of fame.

Oh yah I remember that like yesterday. First time I seen someone get knocked out like that. It was a thing of beauty although it ended Igor's MMA career. That's how brutal it was.

Frank had swagger and could back it up. The UFC seriously needs to open up the books in the future for him. It's weird. A lot of the old schoolers seem to have issues with Dana including Don Frye, Randy, Ken, Tito, Tank, and Frank. It's too bad really. They're old now. Give em the props they deserve for putting in the work during the dark ages.

The problem with the old timers is whether they were on Dana White's good side at one point for him to incorporate them into the UFC Hall of Fame. All of the guys in the Hall of Fame were at one point on Dana's good side or still are. Unfortunately those old timers who aren't in the Hall of Fame now and are picking a fight with Dana aren't going into the Hall of Fame anytime soon.
