5 females the UFC should sign
1) Holly Holm – 32 years old – 5-0-0 Record
Probably the best known woman on this list, Holly Holm is arguably the best female boxer of this generation. During her boxing career she held a 33-2 record and was a WBA, WBC and IBA world champion. Since turning to MMA she has gone a perfect 5-0, finishing each fight by knockout (4 of the 5 KO’s coming from kicks).
2) Rin Nakai – 27 years old – 15-0-1 Record
Now Megumi Fujii has retired, Rin Nakai has taken over the reigns as the best female fighter from Japan. The 27 year old judoka is a tiny bantamweight at 5’1” and is the 132 pound Pancrase champion. She has gone a perfect 15-0-1 in her MMA career, with the only blemish a 2011 draw with Danielle West, whom she later beat a year later. She beat Tara LaRosa (21-3) in her last fight.
3) Barb Honchak – 34 years old – 8-2-0 Record
34 year old Barb Honchak is actually a flyweight, but with current UFC fighters including Jessica Eye and Jessica Andrade (who are both flyweights), she could make the step up. She is the inaugural flyweight champion of Invicta FC and has won 7 straight fights, including wins over Roxanne Modafferi (15-8), Vanessa Porto (15-5) and Aisling Daly (13-3).
4) Lauren Murphy – 30 years old – 7-0-0 Record
Lauren Murphy (formerly Lauren Taylor) is another Invicta fighter, this time a proper 135 pounder (and a big one at that). She has only been training in MMA for 4 years, and took her first pro fight just 6 months after her first training session. She has posted a perfect 7-0 record so far and holds wins over Sarah D’Alelio (7-3) and Kaitlin Young (7-7).
5) Larissa Pacheco – 19 years old – 8-0-0 Record
The youngest female on this list, Pacheco potentially has one of the brightest futures in the bantamweight division. Since making her debut as a 17 year old in 2012 she has won all 8 fights and destroyed all 8 opponents with 3 TKO and 5 submission wins, including a 36 second knockout in her most recent fight. She has been fighting a poor level of opposition however.
