I like Jeet Kun do the best.

JKD was created by Bruce Lee who said the best style is no style at all. JKD is a colection of various moves from diferient styles. It combinds Jui Jitsu Kung Fu kickboxing and judo.

JkD is one style that is pretty much the same thing as mma. Try to find that.

For self defense or for competition? Tounaments or MMA? There is alot to consider.......what are your goals? I've trained in karate, tkd, bjj and wrestled 4 yrs in high school and kick boxed for 2 years. My goal is MMA.

Here's a secret......(not really) if you are looking for a style for self defense, unless you can knock ppl out quick staying on your feet, most fights end up on the ground in my experience. I'd choose a style that gives me great stand up ability and some ground defense/offense. I'd choose an MMA school!

why do people think bruce lee is the end all be all of mma?

he would lose to many many mma people at 155.

(i think if he trained MMA hed be sick, but ive read his book and alot of it is groin shots/back of the head type ****)

i agree with combat sombo and MT. wrestleing/bjj is up there cuz if you know those and can take a punch you can controal a fight.

Some of my Fav fighters (no order)
1) The Truth
2) The Prodigy
3) Crocop
4) The Monster
5) Mark Hunt

There is no BEST style, because they all have their strengths and weaknesses. However, I do believe BJJ, then wrestling are the hardest things to defend if you are not a wrestler/BJJer yourself. The Gracie's proved this to everyone already.

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.. Duhh!

No, not really. I don't think that there is really a style that is better than all others. It also depends on if you have perfected it, I think. Like if you have perfected Wu Shu, that's probably all you need. Still, somebody may have the best Wu Shu, they may only move a couple of steps back if hit by a Muay Thai kick or a Karate punch but they could be choked out by a Jiu-Jitsu monkey. So certain styles effect others. Just like in Pokemon! Squirtle can beat Charmander but he gets beat my Bulbasaur. But then, Charmander can beat Bulbasaur.

it really depends on you , in MMA you should be well rounded but if this is going to be your first foray into any type of martial art. Then pick something you know you'd love to do day in and day out. For example I don't like wrestling /grappling/using submissions/ throwing people around. But i do love to throw hands knees and elbows with a person. So I'v picked Muay Thai as my martial art and i'm loving every second of it.
Just pick something that suits your needs/wants.
