Mark Hominick

How the heck did he manage to lose that fight on WEC? The guy he was fighting charged him with horrible shots and Hominick could not even defend those terrible shots once he got his leg and then he gives up his back and does not even attempt to prevent the RNC. I know it is only one fight but it was bad. Do you think he might be kind of overrated?

Agreed, I was so upset with that fight. From the way that guy fought, I was just waiting for him to eat a knee on the way in or SOMETHING. That's how you fight your brother when you're five. He totally gave that fight away. I mean seriously, what was that like 8 shoots, all sloppy as hell? The only way he got him down was by hanging on to his ankle I believe!

Yeah that was disappointing. The guy that won was so one dimensional it was comical.
Mark started off great though and got in some nice shots. I don't know the other guy but by the sounds of it he's really good on the ground. Once he got it there finally he certainly did his thing.

I think he was just stunned by his unorthodox and bizarre style...it's gotta be weird fighting someone like that who does things that no trained fighter in his right mind would do.

It was funny to watch

I never understood why people said Mark Hominick was some unbeatable monster at 145. He had trouble with Jorge Gurgel, who had trouble with Danny Abbaddi. I never saw anything overly special about Hominick.

His kickboxing is amazing but the transistion into MMA isn't always that easy...

Either way, he made a mistake and won't be fighting Faber anytime soon...

Thta was the first time that i have seen the kid fight and i am not saying his jiu jitsu isnt good but he really didnt have to do much in this case. Hominick did no hand fighting and seemed like he had no idea how to prevent the choke. Preventing the RNC is not easy but it is certainly not complicated. Peel those hands off! This reminded me of two guys from like 10-12 years ago where one could strike but had never been on the ground and one was jiujitsu and had never fought standing up before. It was entertaining though.
