Unified women’s pro MMA rankings: February 2014

Quote:
1. Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak (9-2) – Invicta FC Champion

2. Vanessa Porto (16-6) – Invicta FC MMA Freak’s women’s rankings are based on the Unified Women’s Rankings formerly known as the WAMMA Women’s Rankings. I would like to quote the website for the official rankings:

“The Unified Women’s Professional MMA Rankings are assembled each month by a panel of journalists from multiple MMA websites and publications. These rankings were the first women’s mixed martial arts rankings by division and weight class and are considered by most media outlets as the official women’s MMA rankings. Fighters under suspension or who have not competed within the past 12 months are not eligible to be ranked. Fighters who vacate a weight class will no longer be ranked in that division.”

Note that MMA Freak is NOT a part of the panel, but does endorse the Unified system as our primary rankings with exceptions:

Aguilar is going to be the female version of what Fedor was to the UFC.

Having the best in the world outside of the company and trying to convince people they still have the best fighter at the weight.

Also, Sarah Kaufman only has 2 losses now.

This is a straight copy and paste from WombatSports webpage...not impressive, nor is it an "article"...

If mmafreak is stealing work from other sites we will have to rethink about it's validity and being posted here on MMAF as that is simply unacceptable.

Kanto, please respond to this and explain. Will talk to other staff about this.

To be fair, MMARising.com and WMMAToday have exactly the same rankings, as well as honourable mentions...googled it and those came up.

Jus sayin.

If those rankings were released and emailed to sites or something? Then fair enough. Sure Kanto will be able to give us some more info!

It's common knowledge those people who run the 3 WMMA sites know each other well, and help each other out from time to time when it comes to interviews/articles etc etc.

So they probably shared info.

If my original post put a bad spin on things then I do apologise.

Ok allow me to explain that this is not a copy and paste job. I have taken info compiled from various sources and yes wombat sports is one of them and created the MMA Freak post of the unified rankings. I never claimed that this was just MMA Freak and I made it clear on the first post that this is made up of a panel of journalists that currently does not include MMA Freak. As for questioning the validity of MMA Freak I'm going to straight out say it right now if you feel I'm "steeling" work from other sites which I'm not then ban me from this forum and force me to resign from the site but DO NOT call into question MMA Freak's integrity. I did not do anything wrong but this wouldn't be the first time I was forced to resign from something despite the fact I was not guilty of the accused act.
