Exactly. He may have done what he thought was right, and perhaps it was, but it's far from a clear cut issue. You have to weigh your opponent's pride versus the potential harm you might cause him. I would rather have taken the beating.

Maybe you are in the minority, but I am certainly with you here. Since he was so much better, he could just lower the "beating level" a lil bit, or taking the fight to the ground or even better, fake an injury or indisposition of some kind and give up from there.

That was a dick move right there and brought humiliation to the "winner", IMO.

I'll take my health over pride any day. Especially if there's no money involved. And even more especially if pride is measured by the amount of punishment taken.
