Please note that due to inactivity Dominick Cruz is ineligible for rankings. Also note the rankings are voted on and previous are in parenthesis:
1. Jon Jones (1)
Jon Jones is supposedly going to be facing Alexander Gustafsson for his next title defense. However, the bout has yet to be finalized. Another contender that has arisen is that of Daniel Cormier following his one sided submission victory of Dan Henderson at UFC 173.
2. Jose Aldo (2)
After a time of uncertainty, Jose Aldo is now scheduled to defend his title in a rematch with Chad Mendes at UFC 176 on August 2nd. Mendes has certainly earned the rematch and it will be interesting to see how Mendes has grown and how Aldo can handle the change.
3. Cain Velasquez (4)
Cain Velasquez is set to coach opposite Fabricio Werdum on The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America and face each other at UFC 180 later. By that time he will actually be ineligible for the rankings and will have to win in order to simple get back into rankings eligibility.
4. Demetrious Johnson (tied 5)
Unless an injury happens, Demetrious Johnson will be defending his flyweight title against Ali Bagautinov at UFC 174 on June 14th.
5. Chris Weidman (tied 5)
Chris Weidman is currently scheduled to defend his middleweight title against Lyoto Machida at UFC 175. Machida should be a challenge.
6. Johny Hendricks (tied 7)
After undergoing surgery for a torn bicep sustained during his title fight with Robbie Lawler, Johny Hendricks is waiting for an opponent.
7. Anthony Pettis (tied 7)
Anthony Pettis is set to begin filming for The Ultimate Fighter season 20 during July and coach opposite Gilbert Melendez before fighting.
8. T.J Dillashaw (N/A)
Without a doubt, T. J. Dillashaw pulled probably one of the greatest upsets in the sport by not just defeating Renan Barao but domination him. More then likely Dillashaw’s first title defense will probably be against Raphael Assuncao who owns one of Dillashaw’s two defeats.
9. Ronda Rousey (10)
Ronda Rousey will be defending her UFC Bantamweight Championship against top contender Alexis Davis at UFC 175 on July 5th.
10. Renan Barao (3)
For the most part Renan Barao started his last match out strong until T.J. Dillashaw rocked him and changed the momentum of the fight. Dana White briefly mentioned an immediate rematch against Dillashaw, but that makes no logical sense considering the domination.
The following fighters were voted on and are considered contenders in the pound for pound ranks: 11) Anderson Silva, Junior dos Santos.
