**Video** Rousimar Palhares Brutally Submits Jon Fitch In Round 1

Looks like the leg collector Paul Harris himself just added another limb to his mantle piece. Jon Screaming in pain looks pretty legit... I've seen too many people online already say that Palhares held on too long.... I've watched a dozen times and I don't think he did.... Either way I hope he enjoys his time off because Jake Shields is coming for him!!

Well, i've also seen the video more than a couple of times and i think he got the hold a second or two too long.
Fitch is injured because of that btw...

Looks like an immediate let go to me as soon as the ref jumped in.

Problem with that lock is it doesn't start to hurt until it's too late. Fighters need to be more responsible as well when it's locked in they need to acknowledge it.... they try to get tough and stay in there thinking they're gonna roll or pull out of it.

The minute they feel pain their knee is already coming apart.

Looks like he held on for about an extra second when the ref jumped in. It's kinda hard to tell since the ref was blocking my view though.

Palhares is nothing but a wild animal though. It's too bad because he's talented.

He let definitely go within a second. At 1:43 the ref jumps in and touches Palhares somewhere between 1:43 and 1:44, within 1:44 Palhares already had let go. People tend to say he hold for too long because of his history and because of the brutality of that move. What did Fitch expect¿ To roll out of the lock with it already locked in and his leg still dry at the beginning of the match¿

I think he's getting a rough ride if people are saying he held that too long. He let go pretty much as soon as the ref stepped in.

I know he has a lot of history with not letting go of submissions but this wasn't one of those times.

Watching this fight, and his destruction of dudes like Steve Carl and Mike Pierce really shows just how good Alan Belcher's Jiu Jitsu is. No-one in MMA has been able to shut down Palhares' guard like Belcher. I need to go back and watch that fight, was awesome.

Belcher handled it... he went in over and over again confidently and completely shut Palhares's lock game down.... it was a thing of beauty.

What do you expect from Palhares? He's a one trick pony with a simpleton brain. That being said, it's Fitch's own fault for taking this fight and moreso for allowing it to go to the ground the way it did.
