Kharitonov vs Ninja Rua
Well, everytime Damone or someone else posts fights, I dont always know who the fighters are. Some one recently posted a fight and asked wich are the most brutal beatings or something...
Anyways, from that, I just started looking for other fights and came upon this fight. Im sure most of you have seen it but I dont know much about pride and this fight was freakin' awesome!!
HOLY GUT PUNCH SET UP MAN!!

Yep, that fight ruled, it ruled hard. This was a past fight of the week.
This was the fight that made me love Kharitonov. I mean, man, what a war. Sergei took some nasty shots, but didn't budge. Nasty KO, awesome fight. Gotta love Ninja, though. The guy was fighting a much larger opponent, but he didn't really care.
Sergei was so awesome. I don't know what happened to the guy.
The 04 GP was great. Sergei had an awesome fight with Nog, too.
So yeah, nice post, West.

I recently watched he whole Pride Heavyweight tournament from 2004 and Kharitonov performed amazingly throughout the tournament (originaly saw the fights in crappy quality, on my computer).
Watch Khari vs Nog from FC 04 WestCoast, that fight was a blast to watch tto.

I was sure Damone, that you had posted as a 'fight of the week' but I dont always get to see your posts and Ive only been on this site for a few months.
I cant get over this freaking fight though man. Im watched it 3 times already.
Thanks to all the dudes who post these cool fights up. It helps guys like me who have only been following the sport for a few years see other fighters who werent promoted in Canada or the US.

You have good taste in fights, West. A good, tactical, standup war is a great thing to watch. This was excellent stuff, and a really good way to kick off the 04 GP.
Also, here's more Sergei goodness.

Sergei vs Pedro Rizzo. Can you say "whomping"?

Sergei's a Russian fighter, who fights out of the Russian Top Team. He was hyped as a Sambo guy, but he used his striking more than anything. He had a good chin, as well.
Sergei had a few fights before the 04 GP, but they weren't that memorable. He exploded onto the scene at Total Elimination, and KO'ed Ninja, of course. He went on to utterly destroy Semmy Schilt in, what I feel, was his best performance to date. He lost to Nog in the GP, but he looked pretty good in that fight, and it didn't hurt his rep at all. He demolished Pedro Rizzo in 05, and then beat Werdum by split at Fully Loaded. His career went to rubbish when he was severly beaten by Overeem at Dreamers in 06. Sergei was sort of exposed as a guy who couldn't defend knee's from sidemount. From then on, he got beat by Aleks and had a really, really horrible showing against some guy named Mike Russow. I have no clue where he is nowadays.
