DALLAS – The fighters for tomorrow night’s Art of War USA vs. Brazil event at the American Airlines Center weighed in today. Despite a couple of fighters coming in slightly over their assigned weights and one skirmish, all ten planned fights were cleared for competition on Saturday night.

Pedro “The Rock” Rizzo weighed in at 241 pounds, looking very relaxed approaching his International Fighters Association sanctioned World Heavyweight Championship bout with Jeff “Snowman” Monson. Weighing in at 247.5 pounds, Monson stalked the room with a much more intent gaze than his opponent.

Carlo Prater weighed in at 171.5 pounds for his welterweight contest with Keith Wisniewski and had to forfeit part of his money to Wisniewski in order to keep the fight on. This will mark the third time that these two have faced each other, Wisniewski taking unanimous decision wins in each of their fights so far.

Chute Boxe jiu-jitsu coach Cristiano Marcello and Hector Munoz had one of the more intense moments of the weigh-in. As they posed together, face-to-face, words were exchanged and Munoz shoved Marcello in the chest.

The two backed off without further incidence and made good after exiting the stage, so there was no disciplinary action enforced by Texas Associate Boxing Administrator Greg Alvarez, who presided over the weigh-in.

Art of War USA vs. Brazil takes place Saturday, Sept. 1 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The event is scheduled for a live pay-per-view broadcast on InDemand in the United States and Bell Express Vu Network in Canada, featuring Frank Trigg and Mauro Renallo in the broadcast booth.

IFA World Heavyweight Championship
Pedro Rizzo – 241.0 vs. Jeff Monson – 247.5

Jeremy Horn – 185.0 vs. Jorge Santiago – 184.5

Ron Waterman – 275.5 vs. Mario Rinaldi – 274.5

Alex Andrade – 199.5 vs. Fabiano Capoani – 201.5

Keith Wisniewski – 170.25 vs. Carlo Prater – 171.5

James Damien Stelly – 204.5 vs. Luis Arthur Canι – 204.5

Cristiano Marcello – 155.0 vs. Hector Munoz – 157.75

Anthony Njokuani – 168.0 vs. Keyon Mike Jackson – 169.5

Lana Stefanac – 244.5 vs. Franita Gathings – 205.0

Jason Maxwell – 155.25 vs. Thomas Schulte – 155.25

This event looks to be pretty solid, with three fights that should be pretty good.
