Five Ounces of Pain | Ben Rothwell to fight Ricco Rodriguez at IFL team finals

Ricco Rodriguez vs Ben Rothwell at the IFL finals. I'm pretty pumped for this. Rothwell wins he defiantly shows he's not a joke who is just beating up on poor fighters. Ricco wins maybe he rededicates himself and gets on the comeback trail. He still has the ground game to compete IMO.

This actually interests me somewhat. I mean, Ricco is definitely not the same guy he used to be, but I think he could still reach that level again if he actually got motivated.

Rothwell is on a nice little tear, and I'm pretty much thinking that he beats Ricco here.

I've read that Ricco is down to 255, that's a positive in some sorts I guess. Dude still has potential to be a good fighter, beating Rothwell could be a big step back.

I'm liking this match up for Big Ben. Ricco isn't what he used to be but standing up he can still get the job done. We know Rothwell likes to stand and bang so this should be a good fight.

Honestly on the ground Ricco is as good as any HW in the world and he proved that against Nogueira in a pretty close fight. If Ricco is serious I think he could be a top 10 HW again I don't see him getting the title but I think he has the talent to compete at the top level again. Ricco vs Werdum would either be a great ground battle or really boring but I would love to see that fight just in case it ends up being great.

Rothwell is gonna take it to an overweight, unmotivated Ricco and re-iterate my case that hes an actual force in the HW div.

or Riccos gonna win and stop the train in its tracks

Hmmmmmmm, seems like a real tough matchup for Rothwell. he needs to watch Ricco's fight with Sylvia and sprawl and brawl. But I think Ricco still has enough to win a decision here. But Ill be rooting for Rothwell.

Really? That's pretty cool. Maybe Ricco is taking this thing seriously. If he is, then he could beat Rothwell, and hey, beating Rothwell would probably make Ricco Rodriguez realize that he still has it, and he could still be a force in the HW division. UFC or otherwise.

I think Ricco will win if his cardio lasts but if he gasses then big ben could take it. With Ricco being overweight lately I'm inclined to think that he's going to gas. I really hope Ricco makes a good clean comeback and returns to his old UFC/Pride self.
