Barnett by anyway he wants..Monson is a joke, and is gonna get blasted by Sylvia..Barnett is on another level than Monson..At this time next year we will all be laughing at the fact Monson got a title shot

Still Barnett by any way he wants sounds right. |
Barnet by TKO, ref stoppage from strikes. It would make sense for Barnett to negate the wrestling and mat skills of Monson. Barnett has a reach advantage and is a skilled and aggresive striker and I think he would go in that direction before getting into a BBJ style mat war with Monson.

Barnett is to big for Monson, Monson is very strong and a great submission fighter but Barnett is also. Barnett is also a great standup fighter as Monson but we saw what happened when Monson fought Cruz. Barnett by tko

ironman, who has monson beat?? noone! i dont know why u think he stands a shot agianst sylvia...i dunno maybe im underestimating monson, but against barnett i feel hes toast wherever the fight goes, ground , standing, ..doesnt really matter

It's true he hasn't beaten anyone impressive, but his wins over no names have been impressive. Of the 8 of his last 10 fights I've seen, only his decision with Devin Cole and Marcio Cruz weren't complete dominations. I don't think Sylvia has ever fought a wrestler that's on the level of Jeff Monson.
The two times in Sylvia's carreer that he's ended up on the mat were against Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir, both times he was submitted in the first minute of the fight. He lost to Andrei in 47 seconds and Mir in 50, those are the only two guys who have really gotten him on the ground. Granted, they're both good submission fighters, but Monson's takedowns and submissions are at least as good as Mir's. It's not so much that Monson is a great fighter, it's more that Sylvia has no real ground game. |
I voted for Barnett.

Ahaha, Monson wouldn't stand a chance against some one more strong, better grappler, all around fighter than him. Not even a round.
