Lack of an active guard.
Recently, when I've been watching MMA, less and less people maintain an active guard. I mean, seriously... People just hold their guard closed, and struggle to avoid punches. Not a lot of going for submissions and sweeps.
Opinions? |
There afraid of getting KO'd.

There is alot of money for new upncomers in the big shows, goin for submission on the bottom you usually lose position if you fail. Lot of guys dont wanna take that chance
|
Well, for example, look at a grappling match... For example, Karo vs. Diego. They constantly sweep eachother and reverse position. That's what I like to see. Not laying on the floor blocking punches.

There is a big difference between two good grapplers that switch position than a grappler fighting a MMA fighter
Grapplers grapple. MMA fighters Grapple, Punch, Kick, Knee, GnP, Take you down, Submit and alot more so that is the reason basicly. No need to go any deeper into that. Some could do more to try and entertain the fans but that is not the main thing for some, winning and make dollars are |
Haha. Well, mostly all top rated MMA fighters are at least purple belts in BJJ. They know how to work position.
|
I never said they didnt.. (Haha?) BJJ isnt Grappling or what do you meen?
|
Haha, as in I laugh randomly sometimes.
And also, you said there is a big difference between a Grappler vs. an MMA Fighter. That makes minimal sense, considering the majority of MMA Fighters are Grapplers. |
So now you are saying that there is not much difference between an MMA fighter and a BJJ grappler? Come on kid, there is a huge difference
