I still have Fedor as number 1, but that will change in 08, since he has been inactive for almost a year now. I don't count him fighting MW's as being active. Dude needs to start fighting solid HW's.

I don't get why people act like beating Mark Hunt means nothing. Mark hunt is pretty good and I'd say top 10.
I'm a keep him at number 1 as long as I think he's the best. If he dominates his next fighter in December, that'll be enough.

Maybe they should set up an annual Fedor vs Nog match to retain his first place spot.

No way is Mark Hunt top 10 material.

If one were to count the Hunt win, then Fedor still has been inactive for almost a freakin' year.

I think Hunt could be placed at 10. I'd put him ahead of Cheick Kongo for sure.

I agree. By mid next year he won't even be in the top 5.

Fedor had his time as #1.

He beat everyone there was to beat when he was in Pride. If he's truly interested in keeping his #1 spot, he'll fight more competition.

The only people he has left to fight are

Igor Vovcahnchyn
Anderie Arlovski
Randy Couture
Big Tim
Cheick Kongo

If Fedors Managers weren't so demanding they'd have him in the UFC right now which is the only good career move for him ATM and Randy would still be around.

He's gettin paid a dookie load fighting for M-1, plus its non-exclusive so if someone offers him more he can fight there too. He made the right move for him.

Igor Vovcahnchyn- Doesn't fight anymore. Although I think this would have been fun, it won't happen. Igor makes pizza now or something I heard.

Anderie Arlovski- Don't be surprised if you see him switching companies. He hasn't fought in a long time, and I think Dana is still angry that he beat a top 10 fighter in a boring fight.

Randy Couture-This won't happen. Ever. This is like Wandy vs Chuck x10, so mabey in the next 20-30 years lol

Big Tim- I don't wanna see this, but I'm sure some do. Basically, I think this is suppose to be Fedor vs Giant, which is happening on NYE, and has already happened (Semmy Schilt). Tim seems to has lost his fire, so I don't think a LOT of people really wanna see this.

Cheick Kongo- This is a joke, right? This dude has a worse ground game than Hunt, and isn't as good of a striker or have a stronger head. He would get subed in a few seconds, a minute tops. His only hope would be to flash KO Fedor in this first seconds of the fight.

There's this one guy, he goes by the name of Josh Barnett. He's a pretty rad HW.

Yes isn't Barnet the #3 heavyweight? And he signed with M-1. When Fedor fights Barnet that will shut people up and solidify once again his #1 spot (of course people will try to say Barnet isn't top 10 by then)

And if in 2008 or near future Fedor fights, first that 7 feet tall guy, second Monson, third Barnet, fourth Rizzo. when Fedor finishes all fights by KO or subs, although there are not all top 10 fighters is will be enough to keep fedor at #1. Say what you will but Monson and Rizzo are not easy fights. Oh and about the whole Matt Lindland being a middleweight, Lindland walks around at over 200lbs, the weight difference between Lindland and Fedor isn't what people thought it was, do you really think Lindland cut weight down to 185 to fight Fedor?

Its obvious the thread starter never saw a Fedor fight or watched his legacy in PRIDE, he probably just read a few articles on the internet and reflected the opinion of others here. Good try though!

Just because fedor has been inactive for almost a year (which isn't true) doesn't mean he's not using that time to improve his skills. Look at couture, he was inactive for a year, but came back stronger than ever. Time off doesn't necessarily mean a decrease in skill...plus the biggest reason for the lack of fights was well... pride was Bought Out!

Also Fedor just took home the Gold Russian & World Combat Sambo Championship for god's sakes. Fedor's said it numerous times that training for combat sambo has helped him tremendously in preparing for his MMA fights. As far as i am concerned, just the fact that fedor took home the gold again this year, shows he's still on top of things and training as hard as he always had been doing.

Plus, If anyone is planning to take fedor off the #1 list should at least wait until Feb when he fights monson, and see how fedor performs then.
