Fedor is SOOO not number 1

Ok, so Fedor might be a great fighter but, he doesn't deserve the #1 spot. He keeps fighting "so-so" fighters. His next fight is against some dude that is 7'2" again.. No-name guy.. Yeah he beat cro-cop but, that doesn't mean anything anymore. Infact, he only scooped a decision there. Any of the major ass-whipins he has put down has been against guys like Goodridge. Mark Hunt almost whipped his ass, Kevin Randleman almost broke his neck. If he fought Randy Couture, he would be man handled. If he fought Gonzaga, he would be KO'd. If he fought AA, he would get KO'd.

So, this is just my opionin but, if he keeps fighting "no-name" guys, he shouldn't get the #1 spot!

I know some of you are gonna say, "no-name? whatever" but, in terms of the BEST HW in the world, he hasn't fought any of them in a long long time!

He looked like shit against Matt Linland & Linland is usually a 185er!

Ok, do i have to even explain why im quoting that?? I read that and its obvious you don't know what you are talking about. So i'll leave it there and not discuss with you.

(maybe i will, i'll see what you reply)

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

Hmm part of the reason he has not fought some of the supposed better fighters is that these fighters while great fighters are all a step below Fedor and look great against each other. Fedor is at another level. Pay closer attention to Fedors fights. When he took that slam from Randleman for instance. just about anyone else would have had a broken neck or have been out of the fight. He went from that moment and just impossed his will and ended it. Fedor just seems to be there until he is bored and then he decides to end it. As for the Crocp fight. That is more of a testament to Crocops skill not getting taken down and submitted. It is well known Crocop has some of the most dangerous kicks in MMA and fedor was not even phased by them. Is Fedor unbeatable. No. no one is. but Fedor is right now at least a hed above the rest. Thoguh I will concced one thing. If he does not go seeking the better competitors out there and keep pushing himself. The gap will close quickly. And I think his biggest challenge might just be Gonzaga, yes even over Randy. Its more an age thing then anything else. Rany would have to fight Fedor with in the next year or two to have a good shot.

yes... it's not who he beat it's how he beat them. watch his fights and tell us who else has KOs, submitions and combinations of both like that.
I personally like how he took down Fujita after being almost KOd - liver kick, hook, took him down and choked the living shit out of him, Fijita didn't now whats happening to him. who else does it like that ? Have you ever seen Fedor nuthugging or doing shit that doesnt work ?
Also... who the hell cares about the ratings. everyone has different opinions. even if is not #1 anymore, he still had best fights and performances.

You know what i'm totally feeling what your saying, but the fact still remains that Fedor to this date is 'undefeated'. He has slaughted all that stepped infront of him and in mma that is just so impossible that until he loses or looks really bad in a fight, he'll remain #1. I think what he's doing is really smart, in the next 4 years, mma has the potential to rise like the sea level! If Fedor can just chill and win these fights, he would be inline for a huge paycheck if he were to fight the 'UFC' HW Champion. $25 Mil+ Thats what M1 Global is setting up, imo. And also, he would be able to grow his businesses and mma/sambo market is Russia. That, and family is why I think he made the right decision.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's not #1, because he is and has been for a while. But I will say that if this is any indication as to the caliber of fighters he will be facing with M-1, he will not be #1 for long. He is desperately in need of top competition.

Threadstarter made some good points. Fedor's last good win was back in 05. Since then, he has beaten an old, broken down Coleman, Mark Hunt, and a MW. He needs to either shit or get off the pot, because he can't be number 1 and fight choads.

I never said he was bad, but he can easily be subbed by someone with good top positioning. Fedor was a nightmare match-up for him.

I'm not disagreeing, but who is better then? Randy? I like Couture, but I don't think he is better than Fedor. All of the rest are levels below these two, closest being Nog, who Fedor has beaten a lot.
