Sounds stupid to me. As far as I'm concerned, the octagon is the best environment for MMA.

This sounds horrible to me, its sounds like it favors guys like Lidell who like to packpeddle but it seems like an agressive striker would be at a disadantage doesnt it?

I don't know about you, but I think I'd have some troubles back pedaling if the canvas was sloped.

My prediction went to Sh!t...

I like how some of you think this means he is anti-ground fighting. This is actually speeding it up. Instead of holding a guy against the cage for 5 minutes they will be on the ground within 30 seconds.

Here's my little rendition of how I think it will look like.

Plazz maybe I'm crazy but this doesn't seem like that bad of an idea. I mean what it really prevents is guys holding each other on the cage.

I don't think it will really hurt ground fighting.

However we do need to see what kind of slope it is.

Then why have a cage? Why not have a ring with ropes? What's going to happen to the clinch, dirtyboxing and pinning a dude against it to get GnP or a sub, Couture style?

This guy has no idea what hes talking about, this isn't helping MMA one bit, people are really gonna end up hurt. All this is is a publicity stunt and something to get attention. Bob Meyrowitz has always done stupid shit like this.

Well the cage is there to keep guys in and not deal with the constant ring breaks.

The reason I'm willing to give this a chance is because for every Couture who uses the clinch and dirty boxing right there are fights like Swick vs Burkman where the cage becomes something to pin and hold your opponent against.

This sounds like the last fight in Bloodsport. Now Jean-Claude can do his blind jump split kicks with ease! Nothing says MMA like this:

Just sounds like a desperate attempt to do something different in hopes of attracting a wide fan base.

In theory is sounds alright, but I don't think it sounds like the best idea. What happens if the fighters clinch against the cage, trip up from the incline and injure themselves? I see that happening a lot if they adopt this.
