The last several weeks had brought much speculation regarding the surface.

"Some people thought it would have a moving floor, spikes or even live alligators," said Yamma Pit Fighting's Bob Meyrowitz. "But the Yamma isn't about flashy gimmicks; it's about the evolution of a sport and how the traditional ring can be altered to accelerate that evolution. At its core, the purpose of the Yamma is to make MMA fighting more exciting for those who matter most -- the fans."

Honestly I don't think it's a terrible idea.

It's not great but I do hate when fights get stuck on the cage like Burkman vs Swick and this could be a way to stop that.

But who knows what it will be like to we see some fights in it.

the cage is part of the sport though

im guessing its not an extreme rise though
otherwise i can see some guys getting a little tripped up around the cage

i dont really know yet but i dont think i like it

It's not like they are taking the cage away. They are just making it harder to pin guys against it. if you want to do that then you are going to take a risk.

I'm like you I don't know yet however unlike you I think I like it.

Sounds very interesting to me.

I don't think it's a bad idea. I'm curious to see how it works out.
I wonder exactly how much of an incline there will be, where the incline starts, things like that. Interesting....

I like the idea, but isn't it going to be a little tougher for the refs to stay clear of the fighters?

It's pretty much the ring from World Combat League, with a fence. So that's pretty stupid.

If this guys tired of seeing fights go to the ground, he should definitely tune into boxing.

I expect nothing less than at least one flying go-go plata per show!!!
