Records and streaks never last forever. There is always someone somewhere destined to better it.

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

Lindland, Hunt, Coleman, Nogueira, Randleman, Crocop, Goodridge... it sure sounds like a bunch of cans. Oh, wait, they're some of the best in the game, that's right!

Just because he hasn't fought in the UFC doesn't mean that he hasn't fought anybody good. In fact, he beat the current UFC HW champ twice.

Defecato, ergo sum.

I know who he beat you dumb ****....cro cop was never that good IMO and never deserving of his rankings, noguiera got lucky to beat timmy, he was kicking noguieras ass all fight, and got caught....and I was talking about more recently, how long ago was those fights, you dip shit???....He looked good against mark hunt, that was a awesome fight, but mark hunt was never a top 10 fighter.... and the way he recovered from the slam against randleman was cool, but randleman was never close to a top 10 fighter....those 4 fighters make him the best ever??, LMFAO....He hand picks his fights if you didn't know that, and all he has fought is cans for a while....He knows he's in trouble against big timmy, we'll see what happens.

Fedor is a great fighter no doubt, but lets take a quick look at your list.

Lindland - middleweight
Hunt - not top 10
Coleman - not top 10 washed up 1st gen fighter
Randleman - not top 10 1st gen fighter
The Crocop - good win
Goodridge - just plain sucks

Fedor hasn't fought anyone good in his weight class in a long time.

I'm rooting for Fedor as I'm a fan of his. However, I wouldn't be disappointed if Tim won if he fought well. I personally value a great fight over seeing a particular person win or lose. As a fan of MMA I'm just looking to watch a spectacular fight. Despite being Fedor's fan, if he loses but a good fight was put on by both fighters, I feel like I win as spectator.

Looking at this fight from a neutral perspective, Tim has more to gain from a win than Fedor does and so it would be nice to see him win if does it convincingly.

Hickory what?!
Smoked what?!

I was going to respond to that, but looks like you've already taken care of it. Good post, I agree.

I sort of like Goodridge, though. Sure, he sort of sucks, but he tries, at least.

I won't really be rooting for anyone, to be honest. I like both guys, and I'm just hapy that Fedor's finally fighting a ranked HW instead of some MW or kickboxer. Fedor's a great fighter, and he needs to be fighting top competition. Sylvia, contrary to popular belief, is a really solid HW, who has some nice wins under his belt. he's also a former champion.

tim will not win a stand up fight with fedor. tim a a jab. and an uppercut maybe. fedor will blow tims head off.
