Will anybody be rooting for Tim against Fedor?

As much as I like Fedor I really hope Sylvia pulls this one off. Mainly because if there was any fighter that gets constantly shit on its Tim Sylvia. How many times have you heard people screaming he sucks, he's boring, he shit his pants, he got beat by 44 year old guy, why does he wear that f'ing belt all the time? STFU already. If TIm can pull off a win against Fedor I think he'll get the respect that he deserves (at least I'm hoping).

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

The big appeal to Fedor to a lot of people, including myself, is that he's the embodiment of a living legend. We wander around in a society riddled with myths of great heroes or warriors, and finally, we have concrete proof that a real one, indeed, lives among us.

I'm not talking about legends like "Big Foot", I'm talking about heroes people can look up to because they defied our expectations and set new standards for what our lives can be.

People naturally hate success, but I don't see how anyone can desire Fedor's legacy to end when he's nothing but class, skill and mystery.

On that note, I have nothing against Tim Sylvia. If anyone remembers, I started a Tim Sylvia love and appreciation thread about six months ago, only to receive ample negative rep and "poopy pants" comments, alongside some agreed support.

i got nothin against big tim, and i'll be happy for him if he wins. i'm just happy that fedor will be facing an opponent who cannot be considered a can. tim actually has a chance of beating fedor if he executes a gameplan that keeps the fight standing. i've been complaining about fedor's choice of opponents for some time now, and i believe that this match up is a legitimate answer to those complaints.

I don't think it's hogwash. It's nice to have legends and icons to look up to, especially when they achieve the impossible. Try some optimism, it does wonders.

I would root for tim over fedor. When hell freezes and I watch sex in the city over mma.

lol, it's all good man. I just think it would be kind of cool if Fedor beat every top 10 of his generation and retired undefeated. I mean, people idolize Ali, but even he was beaten, I think his legacy would have been even bigger if he had retired undefeated.

There's so little fantasy left in this world, I think it would be refreshing to have more athletes and icons that defy the odds.

There is a living legend that everyone can look up to and lives among us...his name is Chuck Norris

But seriously, I'm rooting for Big Tim.

what about anderson silva?....and fedor isn't undefeted, he has one lose, and the only reason he doesn't have more loses is becuase he doesn't fight many good fighters, just a bunch of cans.

I'll be rooting for big timmy
