MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings Updated

Quote:
The latest MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings were released on Wednesday, April 9. This system ranks the Top 10 MMA fighters from all across the world in each of the six most widely accepted weight classes, as voted on by MMAWeekly.

We take into consideration a fighter's performance in addition to his win-loss record, head-to-head and common opponents, difficulty of opponents, and numerous other factors in what is the most comprehensive rankings system in the sport.

Fighters who are currently serving drug-related suspensions are not eligible for Top 10 consideration until they have fought one time after the completion of their suspension.

Fighters must also have competed within the past 12 months in order to be eligible for Top 10 consideration.

NOTE: It has been 12-months since Ricardo Arona last competed. He is currently ineligible for Top 10 consideration until he competes.

Only one that surprises me is that Liddell is ranked 3rd.

(If this is in wrong section please move, just thought it had quite a few UFC fighters on the list.)

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
Demian Maia

These rankings just make a stronger case for our rankings I think. Aoki ranked above JZ? That is pretty ridiculous seeing as how JZ just fought him a month ago, Cro Cop in the top 10? Shogun at number 2 while Forrest who just beat him soundly is at number 6? Hendo at number 9 in the MW division? Melendez ahead of Penn and Sherk not even on the list? Yeah these rankings are jacked, some pretty solid rankings and some real head scratchers.

for me personally,I think big nog should be on the #1 because he fought tim sylvia, and not fedor cause he fought an unranked fighter.

I still hate seeing B.J. so low but I'm sure he'll climb up the rankings.

Kamikaze is now 5-0. Watch his most recent fight here.

You can't rank Forrest above Shogun just because he beat him. Forrest may have beat Shogun but he's lost to Tito Ortiz yet he's ranked above him. It really isn't as simple as I beat this guy, I should be above him.

I can understand that, but still it's only one of many question marks.

There are 2 ppl that I don't agree with on this list, BJ Penn and Paulo Filho. Why is BJ so low on the rankings? I really don't see him as #7 he should be #3 or #4 in my book. Paulo Filho has only beat 1 top 10 fighters out there and everyone ranks him #2? I really don't see that.

Shogun 2nd? When he got humiliated by Forrest, that is wrong.

BJ should be a bit higher at least 5th.

Gomi shouldnt be 1st as he got owned by Diaz.

Liddell is too high.
