Hong Man Choi, who has a MMA record of 1-1 and a K-1 record of 12-4, will be absent from the ring for the next three years.
Choi has announced that he will be heading to South Korea’s army training center on April 21st to begin his duty to his country. Choi said that he does not wish to postpone it so that he may stay out of trouble with the military laws in South Korea.
After four weeks of basic soldier training, Choi is then slated to work for South Korea’s National Service Conscript. Standing at 7′2 and weighing 350 pounds, “The Techno Goliath” is considered too big to perform normal soldier duties. Choi’s possible duties after basic training may include giving out speeding, traffic and parking tickets and or just copying papers at a district office.
The 27 year old kick-boxer holds a MMA win over Bobby Ologun and a loss to Fedor Emelianenko.
The Military is making him leave fighting for three years just so he can be a meter maid. That sucks!
You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam
