Why does everybody call...

.. him Fedor Emelianenko?

Its actually pronounced Fyodor as far as I know. Like Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Its the same name. He is a world famouse and recognised author if you didnt know

Even the Japanese announcer in Pride got it right, but we cant?

I mean its not a sin to pronounce his name right but its just suprising that I have heard NOONE pronounce it right in USA, UK etc. Just a thought.

Fun trivia: In danish "kamp" means "match" or "fight". So Martin Kampmann really lives up to his name.

I say it with the korean accent. Fedor is known in korea as "HyoDoRu".

Pride of KOREA:

Yoshihiro Akiyama (Choo Sung Hoon)
Denis "The Super Korean" Kang
Yoon Dong Sik
Dong Hyun "Stun Gun" Kim
Bu Kyung Jung
Hong Man "The Techno Goliath" Choi

Japs are known to really make a name sound weirder than it is, they throw there own twist into it, happens a lot in wrestling over there as well.

I'm pretty sure Fedor would have corrected a lot of people on it mainly Randy, who still calls him Fedor.

This Time ... Break It!

FFL Season 3: 11th Place
Quinton Jackson vs. TBA
Gesias Calvancante vs. TBA
Fabricio Werdum vs. TBA

Thats true sometimes but my point is that they always say Fyodor and not Fedor.. Yet I have never heard anyone from the States pronounce it right..

TraMaI:
Seems confusing but the rigth pronounciation is Fyodor.

Pronounced Fyo-dor
