What the hell are the rules in this thing? I've watched the first two eps now and I still haven't seen the rules really, but in the fight in the beginning of Ep2, one dude threw a huge kick to the head of his opponent who obviously was down on one knee. Are they not using unified rules?



And don't even get me started on the ridiculous nature of the show- i'm past that. i just watch the show with my jaw halfway down or my eyebrow cocked all the time- it's just silly to see TI and Lil John talking like that have a clue about this shit. It's like Rap Snacks. Just branding a product with silly culture crap to sell it to a new market.

I wanted to watch it for the MMA content but so far... eh.

I really am trying to enjoy the mma here but it is so haphazard. I don't like the attitudes of the coaches and managers and it seems like some of them aren't aware that this isn't a boxing match. It's like UFC 1: In Tha Hood

Some of the fights have been ok, others... not. In Ep 6 there is a pretty interesting outcome where one fighter armbars the other from the bottom, and dude picks him up and slams him so hard he KO's him but still has have the doctor pop his shoulder back into socket on the mat after the win it was crazy.

A lot of them are typical clinch-to-ground-to-GnP finish in a matter of a few seconds. the wrestler-strikers seem to be dominating, no real BJJ-style submissions except a guillotine from the bottom so far, and that guy was dominating and on top for most of the fight anyway.

This is just sad. 8 episodes in, the first on-camera groin shot... Ludakris says "Aw, they ain't got no cups on?" How can he have been managing an MMA team for 8 eps now and not know the rules or even whether the fighters wear cups or not?

I'm up to episode 9 and it seems like they are using unified rules, some of the refs are just really, really bad. They miss most illegal blows and the standups are totally whimsical, I saw two guys stood up for inaction when one guy had literally just reversed the other guy less than a second earlier. I think it was cause the ref heard TI yelling "STAND UP WITH HIM!" over and over.

And I have seen at least three or four obviously early stoppages, it's like the one ref (the one that wears a mumu or whatever that is) just wants to have dramatic camera footage of himself diving between two fully conscious fighters to break it up.
