Smoked!? Daemn, he really is tough as nails. I think Saku is the living proof of the damage you can take from soccer kicks and knees to the head on the ground. Being a smaller catch wrestler, he really took a lot of them some times!

If he fought under UFC rules and didn't smoke, we might still have had him in the top tier! But then again, then we wouldn't have seen his one and a half hour war with Royce Gracie. His Gracie huntibng is so awesome, I don't even know how to describe it! Also, him entering with a demon mask was so bad ass!

It really must have gotten up the asses of some of the BJJ and judo guys that Saku — a freakin' pro wrestler!!! — had such great grappling and sub skills.

much appreciated, theres so many good fights i see 1 or 2 times then dont watch for ages and forget how good some were.

It gets higher, I think. I still get reps, but not sure about the bars.

Sakuraba had some manly leg-kicks. One of the best leg-kickers in the history of MMA. One thing I loved about the first Royce vs Saku fight: Saku chopping Royce down with leg-kicks. You can just see Royce wilt, it was awesome. Sakuraba probably should've stopped messing around and TKO'ed Gracie, but I guess he wanted to prove a point. He proved it, but Igor sure beat the hell out of him afterwards. Ah well, Sakuraba looked like a king after making Royce quit. Helio Gracie was digging Saku, too, which was another cool moment in the fight.
