fighting a boxer

If there was a MMA vs Boxing type thing today
who would be your number one Mixed Martial Artist to take on a boxer

I think I would either have to take Big Nog or GSP

GSP just for his freak athleticism and ability to control with his superior MMA wrestling to show the world that there are great athletes in this sport

Big Nog because the mans a beast his chin is made of steel so he can get hit and once the fight would hit the ground itd look like Nog vs Sapp which was perhaps the most effortless armbar ive seen (except for sapps arm being giant which is expected)

discuss

I love watching boxing.

I also watch MMA.

In my opinion, any boxer in any division.

Pitted against any MMA fighter in the same respective division.

The MMA fighter wins.

Boxing VS MIXED MA

Boxers will always be warriors.

But they will always be Boxers. Stand up Boxers. one dimensional.

Hence Mixed Martial Arts.

Man this is a major mismatch.

Any top tier mma fighter would beat ANY boxer if you're talking about an mma fight or even a street fight.
Even somebody with what fans call a crap ground game would be incredible on the ground against somebody who has never spend a day rolling on the mats.

For example, Kimbo.

It's for sure a mismatch. Although a mixed martial artist might lack the power, speed, and all round technical ability of a Boxer he still practices striking, and when it hits the ground the Boxer is likely to be lost.

I would choose Fedor or Silva.
