Man this cracked me up this morning- first the Rocky IV montage training music(veeeery slick guys), then the Bas Rutten tae-bo workout video and then Kimbo speaks. Man this video made me a fan- hardcore.

You cannot resist the power of the training montage.

P.S. If you look closely in the background during the sparring you can even see Rocky running from his KGB minders...

hahah good find.. the montage music was perfect. repped.

Yeah that music was from a Rocky movie. I sure hope Kimbo fights Rodgers next.

I hope that's not how Kimbo's actual training regiment goes.

I hope Thompson sees that weak ass ground training and puts this fight on the floor where he so desperately needs it.:thumb02:

Well, Thompson hasn't exactly shown a ton of ground skill himself, I just have high hopes since he's bigger and working with a good camp.

BUT, I'm not going to blindly hate on Kimbo if he starts beating some C and especially B level fighters (I would rate Thompson a D+ considering his recent record). If he gets good and beats some half solid fighters, his hype will be more justified and it will be easier for me to stand.:)

Not that I think that will happen, but it's true all the same. I don't think Kimbo has the skrill, dawg.

Bro, that was a demo, they don't go full force or full speed. It is just a photo op. And on another note, I thought that Kimbo showed some decent sweeps from the bottom. If he has the correct mentality to perform those in the clutch though is the question.

A demo of what? If it was a demo of his ground game, it was weak. I understand not going full speed or full force, but Bas was struggling harder to give Kimbo something than Kimbo was to secure it.

I realize it was just a photo op, but come on, man. Everything Kimbo was getting on the ground was fed to him on a silver platter by Bas. Hey didn't get anything on the ground, he was given it.

I, personally didn't see much impressive work there. He was lagging behind the other fighters when they were doing the combo's and missing kicks, etc., his ground game didn't look impressive at all, and he hit some pads. woo. :dunno:

Well hopefully Kimbo is a fast learner when it comes to the ground. He'll have to compete against athletes who have years of experience in that area.

Also, Bas Rutten in the fights that I've seen has terrible take down defense and would let himself get mounted alot in his pancrase fights.

I really hope that he's learning his ground skills from someone else.

I think he's hype, nothing else.

I love all the blind Kimbo hate. Nobody on here is claiming he's the greatest thing ever. He is an entertaining guy, with KO power, and brings recognition to the sport. Why do you idiots just keep hatin on him?
